Default Multitasking/socializing
Hello my fellow simmers

I know multitasking is one big feature of Sims4, but it also exists to some extent in Sims3. Commonly, sims will socialise while doing other stuff, such as watching TV (and possibly raising a skill, too), eating or doing homework. There are chess tables and the like, as well as sports activities you can do together, of course. I've also run into more obscure openings such as the mother watching TV while her toddler was on the block table, and they were chatting to each other at the same time. (Meanwhile, sims seated around a firepit do not strike up conversations autonomously, do they?)
When I last booted up the game, the older teen was cooking while the little girl was getting a meal from the fridge. Instead of walking to the adjacent dining room, the girl chose to eat standing next to the stove and chat to the teen. I had never seen this before... Which left me wondering, are there any other less obvious situations that could help with socialising while doing more...productive things? Anything you have witnessed in-game?

I have seen sims chatting while the other one is in the hot tub and the other one is bartending (LN bar). They were no more than 5 tiles away from each other. Also one sim is swimming and the other is fishing in that same pool. I love it when I see sim walking to the livingroom eat next to the sim watching tv and chatting at the same time. Makes me think that they do regonize each other, not just when you order them to.

Yup I always saw my Sims multitasking here and there. I also see to this day see my Sims in The sims 2 multitasking too. Multitasking in the Sims 4 is certainly an improvement though.

A week or so ago I noticed my Sim was holding a drink at a community lot, and he needed to pee. So he put his glass down on top of the urinal, peed and picked up the glass to carry on drinking. I know this is a minor thing, but after all these years playing Sims 3, I had no idea they could do that :o

miarell, I did not know either of those - nice finds! It's awesome if sims choose to do things near each other, even if if means less comfort for them. So yeah, I suspect they are aware of each other... They KNOW, haha.
The drink on the urinal is just... Ew. Or wow. Gotta run to test that :D
I've seen sims stop whatever they're doing to run to the toilet or empty the trash, for some reason, then go back to their original activity autonomously. Although that might simply be coincidence...
