This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default My game could open, but now its not
Alright, so I have a Windows 8 and I can play the Sims 2. I use the Ultimate Collection. So for about a year now, it has been playing finely on this computer until today. Last night, I was playing normally, but I get up this morning, grab a lot off of plumbob, and I click the Icon and it does nothing. I open the file location, it does nothing. I uninstalled and re-installed. Nothing. What is going on?

System: Asus with Windows 8.1,
AMD A10-6700 APU with Raedon(tm) HD Graphics 3.70 GHz,
RAM is 8gbs (7.20gb usable)
64-bit operating system

I have never had lag and and I have A LOT of cc. 17,512 items in my Sims 2 downloads folder, about 6 gbs just in that.

Try deleting the cache files from your Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder. Certain CC items seem to cause this problem. The cache files will regenerate once you launch the game though so you'll probably need to delete them every time you wish to play the game.

Oh ok, it worked. So what could be making them regenerate?

The game regenerates them automatically, they just get bloated sometimes and need to be cleaned out. They're normal game files.

Also if you run body shop you can delete the files it makes. http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...ete_Cache_Files These files get made by your game and body shop every time they run and they easily become corrupted or bloated. It's good practice to delete them every time you go to load up.
