Did you do anything new to your computer recently?

No, I haven't. Although, I did see my antivirus pop that it had blocked a virus or something. I ran my antivirus which is Norton. It didn't find anything.

Does this only occur when you try to play Sims 2? You could try this tutorial first:
Game Help:Game Problemwiki

However, this does sound as though there could be a problem with your game installation. It's possible that your antivirus has detected one of your gamedata files as a threat and removed it. So as a last resort you could try reinstalling the game.

Thanks for your help!

I think I've fixed it! I followed some directions that I found on google about apphangb1. I had to open my computer, right click it, the select properties, then tools. Then I did an Error-check booting scan. it seems to have fixed the problem! I can play now! However, something is now eating up my hard drive space. Like 6GB in a day!
