This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night
Default Custom music does not play on Wall stereos but works on regular stereos
If the thread title is messed up, it's because I'm using my phone and the text entry box is very tiny.

I have a strange issue with the custom music in my Sims 3 game. Custom music works just fine over the regular stereos that you can get in Buy Mode, but it doesn't appear to work on the wall stereos you find in clubs, lounges, etc. Basically the wall mount stereos you can't really have in your Sim's house.

There's nothing wrong with the custom music files I have, they're all formatted properly and they do work over the regular stereos.

I can try disabling and reenabling the wall speakers, leaving the lot and coming back, skipping songs, resetting the lot using NRaas Overwatch, but nothing seems to get custom music working over the wall speakers. I could try restarting the game but it takes about 10 minutes for it to load (yeah it's pretty bad) so it's not economical. Besides, I can almost guarantee that it won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions? All built in stations work fine over the wall speakers.

There is nothing to see here. Move along.

This is a known issue with the commercial lot type wall speakers. I don't think there is any kind of fix for this.

I have never been able to get them to work.

The public speakers (the one that came with Late Night) can be "fixed" with an edit of the Stereos.xml. The fix is not perfect, though, and seems to not work properly with the other type of wired speakers (the ones that came with a later EP).

I'm pretty sure this is the mod I used to correct that: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=370767

Basically it does what Don Babilon said, and it edits the stereo xml so that the kids station plays custom music instead which allows those wall speakers to play custom music. If you don't want to replace the kids station you can always manually edit the xml to replace a different station. It says it's for 1.63, but I'm on the 1.67 patch and have used it for a long time with no problems that I've seen.

I also used this mod to rename the station: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=396497

It only seems to be the base game stations (or I think it is anyway) and it already renames those, so I just renamed them back to the defaults and just changed the stations I wanted to change.

I'll be trying this one, thanks.
