Default Preparing for the patch
I've never played a Sims game with mods before this. Is it recommended to remove mods before patching? That seems supremely annoying to have to remove them and then reinstall them though i suppose after a while patches become pretty infrequent. I know the new patch is coming out tomorrow so I just want to make sure I'm all set for it!

Yes, it's recommended to remove mods first. Some mods are going to have to be updated to work with the patch, and it's pretty much impossible to know beforehand which ones, since we don't know exactly what parts of the game code the patch will modify. You should also back up your save games

After you patch, you can try putting your mods back one at a time, checking for problems. Or just wait for the mod creator to tell you if their mod needs updates or not.

Here's the guide for TS3 -- most of it applies to TSM, except of course that the paths are different: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...efore_You_Begin

It is probably a good idea to cut/paste your mods and resources.cfg out into another folder before patching. You should also check the launcher to see if you have "Automatic Updates" set. Then uncheck it if it is so you can choose when it patches.

You may also want to revert your commands.ini cheatsenabled=1 to cheatsenabled=0
Just to be safe.

And back up your kingdoms.
Twice.

My advice is that everyone, before installing the update, move the Mods folder (with everything in it) out of the game installation and stash it somewhere outside the game installation. As if it never existed. Also the Resource.cfg file in The Sims Medieval folder, move it out of there. Also the d3dx9whatever.dll file in the Bin folder, move it out. Move out the Commands.ini file which you altered and put the original one back in place.

MedievalMods and Sims3mods: Dive Cave Reset Fix, Resort Revamp, Industrial Oven Revamp, Will O' Wisp fix, UI Sounds Disabled, No Cars, Gnome Family Planner, Townies Out on the Town, No Martial Arts Clothes, Fast Skilling, etc. http://simsasylum.com/tfm/

Any news about the new patch and if the Mods are working or not? I'm not going to update the game until I can hear more info on what it actually does and if all the Mods have to be converted. I did exactly what Shimrod said and now I'm just waiting for other gamers opinions. Thanks!

The link I used was for the boxed version of the game... dunno if that effects the usability of the link or not. >.>
