Jaime I'm glad to hear that! And remember, you've got until Friday the 15th to put up your application.
Spiffyriffic, I like what you've got so far, especially the last one, it's just gorgeous!
Joanne, I know, I have that affect on people, LOL But like I told Essa, you could go out with a bang! What better way to retire, eh? :P
Haroz, you've got so many great samples of your work, especially that first one and third one, just gorgeous. Feels like something I would have actually seen in a magazine. However, if you could skim it down to your best four, I'd appreciate that and also, you can only choose one genre for the entirety of the contest. Mainly so it's less work on you. I do suggest, since there are many who are specializing in commercial to take fashion. The third photograph is a perfect examples of your prowess in that field. :D
Redwing, that first shot is absolutely gorgeous, the lighting is just stunning.
Although they're (commercial and fashion) are fairly similar, it's better just to pick on genre for the entirety of the contest, 'cause if you pick two, you'll have to submit two entries, six pictures instead of three and double the work. So it's better advised that for the first cycle, just to pick one. :D
LOL
Fun, but you don't have to look that far. Just go to the first page, and in the third post I have listed all the contestants so far, so just click on your application there, and it should come up for you to edit.
I completely agree
Destin, you can't learn and get better at anything without going head to head with the best and practicing to get your style out there. As a real life photographer myself, this is something that isn't just a fact, but a way of living within this art form. If you don't challenge yourself, how could you know how high you can soar?
Okay, and that was my 'pep' speech for the day, LOL
And I'm so glad you entered
Gerbera, 'cause those photographs are just great! I especially like that interior shot, just beautiful!
Wow
Carmilla, I was just floored with that third pic, I mean the smoke looks so freakin' real, just amazing. I do agree about the first pic, its simplicity is what makes it stand out even more, but lets not forget about that gorgeous lighting either! And that second shot! Man, that's just genius. Great examples of Urban photography with a story telling twist. :P
About application cuts, I'm still not sure about that, but don't worry, once I've made a decision after consulting the judges, I will let everyone know with time.
