Default Half-staircases, half stories?
I'm trying to make the house I used to live in and we had a "half story" where the stairs would stop between the upper and lower floors on a landing, and it had a half bathroom and a bedroom there. Making it a three story house wouldn't work.

Ugh, I hope I'm describing it well enough to be envisioned...

You can watch this video on Youtube, it shows how to make L and U shaped staircases, which essentially require you to create a landing. I believe it should help you.

With a little research, split level homes can be built by using the handy dandy CFE cheat (constrainfloorelevation false/true).
You can find some great tutorials here on MTS, and lots of videos on YouTube also.
