This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Household replaced by family from the family bin.
I got the strangest glitch I've ever seen. I played this neighborhood for a while, and I had only one major glitch (community lots bigger than the smallest lot would not load). But today I got the same glitch twice.

I was playing fine last night. I didn't turn the game off (I forgot) and resumed playing in the morning when I noticed it was on. I clicked on the family I wanted to play that I played last night, and clicked to go into their household. The game loaded normally, with the family photo of the whole family. It loads at the same speed, and everything seems fine. Then I notice that something's off. It's not my family! It was a completely different family living there with all the furnishing. I exited out, clicked on the family, and my original family still shows up. That's when I noticed the family I saw was in the family bin.
So I moved all the family bin families onto empty lots. Still happened. I got 12 dogs! 12 dogs! (I have a cheat to enlarge family sizes, but still)
So I had to move the family out and back in. I thought it was strange but continued to play. I left that household and went to play 2 different ones. Loaded normally. I go to play my third household and the glitch is back! So I had to move them out and back in. This lot was buggy before because sims couldn't give birth or the game would crash, but the other lot was always fine.
It only happened two times so far but I'm worried. I'm playing a medieval legacy game with lots of people and lots of houses and every simelon is accounted for. It's so annoying to have to refurnish every time I want to play.

I googled this problem all day but I can't find anyone who even had a similar issue. Does anyone have any ideas? The only thing I did different this whole month that I can think of is that I used the Hood checker I got off this website.
Thanks for any help.

It may be this hood is as good as dead but.

1. delete the cache files. (You may want to delete the "NeighborhoodManager" file to.)
C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods
2. get the hood checker program and let it fix what it can. http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=456523

I always delete the cache files and I started to delete the neighborhood manager as well. I also used the hood checker on this neighborhood at least three times now. It would really, really suck if this neighborhood was done. I had to re-install because of computer troubles before and I lost seven generations of sims! I started again and am on the fourth generation and I really don't want to abandon them and start again
Right now I'd settle just for hearing someone else experiencing this glitch. It happened once more with a different household, but I played all the other households in the neighborhood, including the two that had the trouble first time, and they were fine.

Well then have you made sure you game has been patched for each EP and the one stuff pack patch.

Also go through all you hacks/mods and make sure there updated for you game.

If it is not hood corruption then it could be a bad hack/mod.

Since this has happen to you before I am thinking if you have patch your game that it will be a bad mod/hack.

I do have a shitload of mods. But I don't know, I've been playing with the same mods for a very long time. Why would the issue show up only now? or does it take this long for this stuff to show up? If it happens again I'll see if I can figure out if everything's patched and go through any global hacks I have. I have a lot of hacks to go through if I had to check each and every one.
Thanks for the help!

If you have installed any newer EPs or Packs - like the Ultimate Collection, all your old neighborhoods are completely unusable. This happened to me when my housemate got me two expansions - they had happened to come out physically in stores before the version I already had. (I had double deluxe and pets installed - he got me University and something else, which came out long before Pets.)

This install completely and totally broke all the sims in my neighborhoods, rendering them completely wrong from start to finish. The characters have been altered, all their names, everything.

As far as I know, this is "working as intended" from EA, and one of the few things that I want to hurt someone over.

At times, the neighborhood limits will be exceeded, and that's basically it for that area too. You might have had more than it could handle.
