Default WCIF: Family Editing/Moving Tool or Program?
Greetings,

Hopefully this is the right place to put this thread even though I'm not looking for an item or mod...

Anyway, I've been setting up a fan film scene in a Sims 2 lot that needed a number of characters, and I imported a family to get started, then merged various other Sims with that family. So far it went alright, and I deleted (or rather killed) a few as I went along that I didn't really need to cut down the overall family size. I then merged another family and made the mistake of merging too many Sims on one lot (I had increased the family size through the cheat file), and now I can't get into the lot to decrease the number of Sims because the game keeps crashing whenever I try to load the lot. Yeah, I probably should have thought that one through better.

I was wondering if anyone knew of an external tool that lets you modify Sims on a lot and, preferably, move them into another lot or, worst case scenario, just delete some Sims from the lot? I could've sworn I saw a program like this before a while ago but now I can't seem to locate it again. It doesn't help that I can't remember even a little bit of what it was called... I can't find anything like this on ModTheSims, Google hasn't been of much use (I just find guides on how to use the in-game move tool) and the only program that sounded like it may work, though I'm not entirely sure if it would, was a link on the Sims wiki to a site that no longer exists.

Does anyone know of a program/tool that I could use to move and/or delete Sims from a lot without having to be on the lot itself? Preferably outside of the game, which would probably save some time.

Note: I am aware of the Tombstone of Life and Death, which I often use, but it's extremely tedious to continually click through the list to find the Sims to move out from the original lot to make said family lot size smaller...

The best option is probably going to be to make a dummy family on another lot, and cheat/hack the relatioship with one of the overstuffed sims to very high, then ask them to Move In. I think that will trigger the "Who is moving in with this sim?" window, which would let you select a bunch of sims in the household.

Even easier would be to use SimBlender and force a move in without the need to build the relationship - plus a summoner like Inge's cat to get them on lot.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Ah, I'll give that a shot. I couldn't remember if I could interact with the Sim from the crowded lot (to increase their relationship with the dummy Sim and get the move in option) unless that dummy had already met the other Sim. I'll have to see if there's some way I can get them to meet and interact...

I'm not entirely familiar with SimBlender. I've heard of it, I think I have it, but I've never really used it much. I suppose it's time that I play around with it.

What is "Inge's cat"?

If you're dummy sim hasn't met the Sims you want to move in, you could usephaes phone book to add Sims to their relationship panel.

I think using a teleporter for all of the affected sims would have the same problem as the tombstone of L&D, maxon.

And yeah - you can use Phae's phone book, or you could just use SimBlender/Insim/Teleporter shrub to teleport them onto the lot.

Yes but the cat and blender only let you select sims one by one.

I'd go for the relationship cheat and move 10 or 20 out in one go.

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

@simsfreq The OP has said the lot has crashed and we are trying to rescue the Sims in that lot. There is no option to "move out" for OP can not get into the lot.

No, I was talking about what Nysha suggested. Asking a sim to move in from another lot. I should have written in, not out.

Alrighty, I've downloaded the cat teleporter as well as the phone book listed above. I'll give them both a shot and see how it goes.

I'm not entirely sure what relationship cheat you're referring to, though, Simsfreq...

Here ^^

The relationship cheat = any cheaty way of increasing relationship without spending time socialising. The sim blender, insimenator, sim manipulator, SimPE, probably lots more I don't know about.

Or just clicking and dragging on the relationship bar with testingcheatsenabled.

Oh, right... I wasn't sure if the "relationship cheat" was just something else entirely that I didn't know of. :P

Anyhow, I'm in-game now. Lets see if I can get something working...

Edit: Actually... Where does the Simlogical cat teleporter appear in the catalog? I've been looking through it but I can't seem to find it. But I'm not sure if I'm even looking in the right sections. The website doesn't mention where it is in the catalog...

And it's only $1 so it should be first on the list.
