Ah, now that I can understand, having both a shared 'hood and your own that no one else touches.

There is an assignable grave that can be downloaded. If you download it, does it let you assign the character(s) that got deleted? If so, that might help slow the damage. |

Question: - I realized my last full back-up was done sometime early last year, so I decided to do a new back-up before playing again. I have a MyBook that is practically empty, more than enough room for an entire TS2 back-up. Copying the downloads folder is driving me crazy. Every time I do it, it will copy everything until I reach mid-way through the "M" section. An error will appear listing a particular file name, telling me the directory cannot be written. First time it did this, I tried temporarily moving the specific file out of the downloads folder, into a temp hold folder. Did no good. The error comes up with the very next file name as the error. I'll move that, and the error lists the NEXT file name, and so on, and so on. It won't copy anything past halfway through my downloads folder. I have no idea why this is happening. Like I said, more than enough room on the external hard drive for everything. It will successfully copy half the folder, then start giving me errors (I skipped down to files at the bottom of my downloads folder to try copying a file toward the end, same error message). Never had this issue before in all the times I've ever done back-ups. Any ideas or tips? Thanks in advance, guys!

It sounds like you might be running into some sort of limit on the backup disk. Number of files per folder? Perhaps size of folder? |

OK, so here's my stupidity for the day: Vacations. Has anyone ever heard of there being an increased chance of pregnancy when on vacation? Because I swear, whenever I send off a couple on a vacation, there's usually an unborn tag-along when they get back. Mind, I do not control my Sims' reproductive behavior. ACR does. Completely. And I'm talking about couples who are older and whose ACR fertility rates are very low. Like, single digits. So they're not newlywed honeymooners or spring chickens with oats to sow. Their youngest kids are older teens. But I send 'em on vacation and BAM! It never freakin' fails! So am I just seeing a pattern in chaos or has anyone ever read anything about increased chance of pregnancy when on vacation? I'd almost think that ACR doesn't function in vacation 'hoods except that I know it does because it's the thing that prompts them to scamper off to the nearest couch to get it on in the first place... |

For stuff what I've made, there's my LJ. There be downloads there, some of which aren't/won't be here on MTS. |

I've wondered this myself; but since the unmodified odds are a coin flip the fact that if I want them to come back pregnant they come back pregnant doesn't really signify. Is it possible that, though the obvious functions of ACR keep working on vacations, something about the way the vacation timer is coded causes the ACR odds to defer to the unmodified odds for this specific issue? |

Hmm, I wonder if you might be right. Last time I copied the downloads folder it was a good deal smaller (like, a very good deal smaller). I'll try making a second folder and see how I do with that. Cheers for the tip, Mootilda! I hope it's gonna be just that easy ![]() EDIT: That did it! That was exactly the issue. Here I was complicating it all in my head thinking 'file corruption' and all sorts of stuff, and it was just folder size. Thank you loads, Mootilda, you are my queen. Now I can play my game again, w0000t!

That's almost what I'm thinking. That while it will prompt autonomous woohoo and other romantic interaction so that it superficially works, perhaps the other settings do not apply. Because otherwise it's just way too weird that pregnancy always happens, so long as the vacation lasts long enough for them to be trotting off for some fun during that stretch of time. I do notice that they'll do the wild thing more often on vacation, and that would logically seem to be a property of time not passing the same way...although I honestly can't figure out why fertility would be affected. I'm OK with the increased frequency because it actually makes sense for a vacation. But I don't always want pregnancy. But then again, sometimes I do. If I need a couple to have just one more kid before they're too close to Elder, sending them off to some exotic locale will almost always do the trick.

I've wondered about that also. There have been many times that couples that seemed to not be able to have kids have gotten pregnant on vacation when there was no chimes at home. |

For how long do small dogs live for? I have a small elder dog who is 33 days old, so how many days does she still have left? |

I don't know, but the wiki says 25 days as adults and doesn't specify how long they live as elders. http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Dog

Do you like to roleplay?
