Since patching I've had problems starting the game. I get a message saying to make sure the CD is in the drive. At other times I get a message saying to make sure no other Sim2 applications are running. Frustrating, although after two or three tries the game will start. My Lucy is also blond, but that doesn't bother me. What does though is reading about new bugs in OFB after the Pet patch installation. I haven't played any businesses since installing the patch, so I'll keep my fingers crossed when I do.

As for hacks, I have only a few: Plants for Pets and umm, one other minor one that I can't think of at the moment, and a few hacked objects. I have all the patches and followed all the correct procedures when installing, such as backing up my game and removing hacks from the download folder. Just remembered, I also have a no-censor patch. I played the game after each expansion pack installation and after each patch without hacks installed and still had problems.

As for not buying any more expansions until the bugs in the previous ones are fixed, I'd already decided not to buy another expansion pack since installing Pets. There are other bugs in the game that I've noticed and that haven't been fixed. Since Pets the matchmaker no longer introduces the blind date to my sim, just sort of wanders off. I also had an issue with moving a sim to college and back again--she had a jump bug upon returning from college, which I solved by having her change her appearance, then she suddenly 'moved' into the house she'd been living in for days. One sim developed what must be a permanant jump bug (I don't have SimPE and I wasn't so lucky as I was with the previous sim) so it looks like it's the Cursed Vase of Fire for him. Of course, none of these problems could be caused by Pets, but when playing with no hacks installed all I know is that I'm not causing them. :/

The bottom line for me is that EA really needs to concentrate on producing quality instead of quanity. Seasons is not a must-have for me at this stage, only due to the frustration with the bugs of the previous expansions, Pets in particular. Pets Patch Lite just doesn't cut it. When they fix the bugs, I'll think about it purchasing it, albeit long and hard.

Since I installed the patch I can't wash my dogs in the tub without them getting stuck in it. Does anyone know how I can release them?
If not, at least it looks hilarious when a sim is taking a bath and the head of a poodle is sticking up of the water right between her knees.

For those of you who are curious/concerned/confused about a patch for the DVD vs. the CD vs. the digital ... according to the sims 2 website (and I don't know if this is a recent change or not), but the patch for pets now says CD/DVD ... so that means that the CD patch is the DVD patch ... the "digital" patch is the patch used for those who downloaded their game.

Default Problem
So, I downloaded the Pets Patch, and this happened:

When I go into CAF... and when I try to make a pet, it looks like this <img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/barados2/bad.jpg"><p>

Instead of this:<img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/barados2/good.jpg"><p>

any suggestions?

First of all, use
Code:
[img]URL of Image goes here[/img]

Don't use Http tags on a forum

Second of all Do you have the CAF background stuff removing patch?

And anyway, IMO it looks better without the pics, etc

So...is the patch working for ANYBODY?

If it works for most people and everyone on this thread is a minority, I'll download it. But it looks most people are having problems.

Well...after changing their accessories I believe they do stop flashing blue now, but I have to test further.

No. You need to download and patch EVERY EP you have...and here is why:

I always wondered why the NL patch is smaller than the Uni patch...but claimed to patch Uni. Well, it does not patch Uni.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

sisterofsam - for your stuck dogs try this. Press shift-cntl-c to bring up the cheat box. Type "moveobjects on" in the box. Press enter. Press esc if the box doesn't close.

Go into buy mode and pick up the dog. Delete it. Save the lot and return to the neighborhood screen. When you re-enter the lot, the dog should be reset and acting normally.

Be sure to type "moveobjects off" in the cheat box to turn the cheat off.

And that's the only bug it fixed for me!

For example: one of the bug that should have been solved is: Pets will no longer visit Downtown alone... Well they are still vising alone in my game...

I haven't play much after the patch but the only bug I noticed that has been fixed with it is the one that didn't let my YA to go back home from the Secret Society lot.
