Default WCIF townie aging mod?
It always realllly pissed me off how my sims could go from being born all the way to death and the neighbor Darren Dreamer just stays the same age.
Are there any mods to make it so that I don't have to play them but they age?

There is one: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=8697.0

If I remember correctly townie aging mods will age townies but not turn them into next lifestage.

Darren Dreamer is a playable, you will need to load up his lot and age him up. Simple enough, I use the simblender.

@Annaminna, thanks.
@joandsarah77, it's just really boring going into everyone else's house, and then aging them, making them have kids, aging up the kids, and seeing them die.
I wish you could click on an occupied house and age them up.

There is no mod out there that will do that @DBGP, you don't have to play the lots you just need to open the lot placed the Simblender and use it to age them to the next age save and exit to hood view and play you house again, you can age elders up and as long as you are on there home lot they will die at 6 PM that day.

Can you link a tutorial?
I never even installed SimBlender. I don't even know how SimPE works.

Simblender is not SimPE but a mod you put in your downloads folder and place it on a lot in buy mode. http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=20.0

You don't need a tutorial.

Simblender (first link in Google) http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=20.0

Go to the Miscellaneous section, it looks like a potted plant. Place it on your lot. Click on it and find aging. Then you can age 3 days older or age to next life stage. So Aging> age to elder>Darren.

You don't have to have kids but that isn't hard either. If you have someone you want him to marry you can set relationship on the blender, get married. Use the blender to have baby with>pick Darren. After a few hours an option will show on the blender to accelerate pregnancy. Click that and she will have the baby after another few hours. Once the baby is born age to toddler.

With this mod, townies aged if they're in a community lot at 6PM and they do turn into the next lifestage. I recently put that mod in my game because I was fed up with living since the beginning of my hood. A few of them died of old age and I got one teen who turn into a adult.

The thing about TS2 is that it is more suited for rotation play with individual houses in their own mini-universe. Instead of multiple saves for the same house in the same neighborhood like you could do in TS3, you have to play each house individually and if you wanted to play the house differently, you'd have to reset the whole neighborhood OR find a way to have two copies of the same 'hood.

As of right now, there's now way of achieving the goal of having the entire 'hood progress with you, but I wouldn't say it's entirely impossible- people always find a way.

Yep, there is a mod for this. It's called "The Sims 3"

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

If you have no interest in playing Darren or the other premades, maybe you could make them townies with sim blender and keep them aging with that townie age mod. I've never used one, so I'm not sure, but it's a thought.

Darren was just an example, but thank you all for your suggestions.

Also, I thought I read (somewhere) that you only have the base game. In that case, you may need Sim Manipulater not simblender. Just a thought.

@jimma if OP only has the Base Game then OP can not use the Sim Manipulater (Sim Manipulater requires 1 EP) but OP can use the InSIMenator mod for it is the only one that works with just the base game.

marka, you are correct. I just went and looked at what I had written down about the two mods. My memory was off. Sorry.

DBGP, I'm happy for you and enjoy. I'm just glad that marka did catch my mistake. The thought of me giving wrong information makes me cring.

Going to say where did people get the idea that the OP had only the base game? Their profile says M&G.

Ah okay. I usually check the profile; not that that is always correct, but likely to be. I tend to assume the other way, that most people have a complete set of disks or the UC these days.
