This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3
Default Crashing, Game is telling me I have current version, TS3 Crash Log Analyzer says I have version 1.0.631something
Okay, so my game is crashing upon doing anything really, such as moving in-game, loading, interacting with things, or moving too quickly. Keep in mind that my game is modded to hell (I have 2305 active things, this is a mix of both .packages and .sims3packs, I keep a backup of all mods being used in a separate folder and location). I have had this game since it was released, but only bought it on steam a year ago because my Origin version stopped working after I got a new computer (it refused to play after installation or something, I dont remember the details). I have not played the game in quite a while, and this all started after me using a few new extra .package type mods and the pose player. Prior to me installing the couple new things, I had spent 3 hours in CAS making a sim. There were no signs of crashing, graphical issues, glitches, or any lag or slowness. I have been using both the Sims 3 Crash Log Analyzer and the Sims 3 Dashboard to try to figure out the problem. S3CLA has been telling me two different odd possible reasons for my crashing: insufficient graphics capability, and updates available (1.0.631.00107 -> 1.67.2.024007). The former is odd due to the fact that I was able to play the game fine for the many years I have had the game, and I had been playing with zero lag an hour before. The latter is odd because my game says I have the current version, and not the super ancient version S3CLA thinks I have.

I have 46 recorded hours in steam, and probably a hell of a lot more on my now non-functional Origin version. Sims 3 Dashboard says I have no issues. I tried verifying the game cache in steam, and it said all files were there and fine & dandy. If need be, I can provide my mods folder, although its not recommended (it is 2.35 gigabytes) Also, the first crash happened when I had one of my sims use a pose via pose player. The pose was base-game. I have crashed 5 times in total. Sorry if i aint includin all the specs & details gubbins, as I dont often come 'round forums. On a sidenote, some of the crash logs say stuff about d3d9.dll, which I'm pretty sure is a directx thing. I have sims 3 and sims 3 pets.

I have included an image of my pet bunny Bernard as a thank you for potentially helping me with my dilemma.

Heres my specs n stuff ( I dont know if my computer is a metaphorical potato or not) :

Well, when it comes to your card, it's marked "maybe" for Pets: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...em_Requirements Remember, if one keeps using a insufficient card, eventually it will give up. http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...r_is_Like_a_Car

Secondly, if your launcher says that your game is fully updated, do not trust it because it's buggy and often lies. Check it yourself, like from the skuversion text file, which you can find from each game folder (Sims 3 -> game -> bin -> skuversion).

Thirdly, Dashboad is a good tool but it is not 100% accurate and often doesn't show bad cc. In your case, if you are indeed missing patches, then those mods etc. you downloaded + the pose player require a newer game patch version and that might be what's causing the crashing now.

Program Files(x86) -> Electronic Arts -> Sims 3 -> Game -> Bin

Sorry, I forgot to add the correct path. My mistake.

Okay, so it turns out I apparently do have that ancient version? It says that .txt file was last updated in 2009, and lists my version as 1.0.631.00107. How have I functioned until this point???? Steam should've been automatically updating or something. also, out of curiosity, I looked to see if my steam folder has the same sorta guff, and it does. However, the second thing lists my version as the current version. I have taken screenshots of both things. Is this normal?

Well, I'm using a mix of disk versions and Origin versions, so I really don't know much about Steam. Your game probably functioned because you didn't have an cc that required a certain version. Now you have and especially mods are very specific when it comes to patch versions. Here's a link to patches... http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3...more/td-p/67858 ...but it also says there that Steam versions have their own update system, so I cannot help with that. So I'm really not sure whether your game is up to date or not but the crashing hints to no. The non-Steam Sims 3 folder could be the old Origin one. Perhaps your game is somehow checking that folder instead of the updated steam one. Just a though.

Have you tested the game without the latest cc you added?
