Get rid of Error 12 and memory crash ?
Hello everyone !

I've tried everything to solve Error 12 and 4gb+ crash :

My game runs smoothly but the nightmare begins when it comes to saving : I still either get an error 12 or a crash.

Is there another manual fix ?
As a last resort, I'd like to buy a new PC with a lot of RAM. Will this solve the problem ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

whats wondering me is that you say the game runs smooth in general - just the saving is bothering you.
error 12 seems to be caused by memory issues (aka: out of memory error) (Crinrict words linked to by yourself ) so what are your specs operating system and RAM?

also i couldnt find a link that you checked this at nraas. i recommend reading it nraas Wikispaces - General Issues Error 12
saving big huge save games (e.p. after long play sessions) are more likely to cause that error.

what is your patch level? many problems are related to insufficiently patched games. maybe even the save error 12.

last if you want to play The Sims 3 but your computer isnt able to handle that game (and you really want to buy a new computer anyway) i am sure i saw a thread about computer suggestions somewhere here at the forums. but since the games design is badly optimized i am not sure if a computer to handle that game "perfectly" even exists.

do you use mods that helps EAs poor game design? you find some at nraas (error trap and overwatch )

I'll add to the advice above from shmovese .. you might want to check out Tips For Better Game Performance . Much of what is detailed in that document will help avoid game crashes.
