This user has the following games installed:
Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Free Time
Car pool and News paper Time Loop
Im having a news paper and carpool time loop issue. The routine that triggers when 7am-8am reaches any lot keeps looping. The newspaper gets delivered and redelivered forever and the car and bus show up and vanish and reshow up and re-vanish over and over. I had this happen before and just removed a few incontestable items or some thing, I forget. but now its happening after I just installed the Bon Voyage EP. My Seasons Disk cracked and was unplayable so I put the EP in to fix it. Now I could make all my sims retire from work / school but Im looking for some one who had this happen. So I don't have to uninstall download folders are there any well known fan made contents that worked OK with seasons but messed up Bon Voyage? Some thing that would be on all or most lots or at least on two lots? Some thing I would always use and theres a fix for it? a patch? a download to get around it? I would Have to go to a lot thats empty and see if it still happens or not. If it does happen when no objects at all are on the lot what would be the issue? or if it is related to an object on the lot what ones have made trouble? or should I get a new copy of seasons, uninstall and reinstall with out Bon Voyage? ? uninstall and reinstall with bon voyage without seasons? Remove chunks of Downlloads until one the glitch stops? If it is an object on the lot what would it likely be? one of the Insimenator? or maybe a fixture I always use like Bathroom or kitchen items? last time it was a toilet with clear glass walls and an other time it was the pool. Just didn't want to mess around with testing objects. I takes a LONG time to load the game and Its a lot of time spent loading just to test 7am's events.
Also could it be my computer? memory? speed? graphics? perhaps an object in the wrong folder?
point is it ran fine on Seasons and Bon Voyage isn't handling some thing.
I also had other odd issues like some sims clothing vanishing or being wrong and some of my menu hacks are gone. But I also have access to a lot of custom Content I didn't before.
Well worst outcome, I just make all my sims quit there jobs witch works for telling stories since no more carpools to interrupt the videos. I just hate having an important item not working. and Im afraid of what else will go wrong I in the past uninstalled Bon Voyage for having too many glitches. Now its the only way I can even run the game.

It sounds horribly messed up. Why don't you drag out your Downloads folder, and play a different neighborhood for a while, to see if things straighten out? If all runs well, you can start putting back your downloads a few at a time.

Did you update your mods to the new EP?
Did you patch the new EP?
Did you delete the cache files after installing the new EP?

Have you tried playing with no cc? Do make sure to keep in any NPC creating mods and No Sim Loaded as you don't want corruption and the Super Hug forming from just yanking things out. Also do make a backup before you start. If your game plays fine with Downloads removed you will know if the problem is CC or not. if it is you will need to do a 50/50 search. Place half of the folder back in and test-good or bad? If it's good remove that and test the other half-good-bad? Hopefully you will find one half is good and one half is bad. Put the good side aside, you have now discovered half of your download folder is working yah! You then go on and test that bad half by halving it and testing each half just like you did with your entire download folder. You do that until you are down to 2 files. You find the bad one and delete it. of course if it's a mod conflict and not bad cc it may take some more figuring out. Do check over your mods to make sure they work with your EP level and that they are not conflicting. For example two mods which both affect the school bus.

@kaykeyser If you have not done so then I would sign up for EA's Origin account and contact support and tell them your Seasons Disk cracked on you and that you can not start up your game anymore and see if they will give you the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.
If they will not give it to you the first time contact them again and again and again until one of them gives it to you.
I think your problem is an outdated mod and if you get the UC then you will need to update your mods for Sims 2 Mansion and Garden.

Yes it would be a good reason to ask them for the UC.

I been checking my files, wish I had taken notes removing things temporarily fixed other problems too, but very minor ones. I finally after a lot of testing found the outdated global hack and now I can get Bon Voyage stuff too. I think a wise move for the future is to Put every thing in verry well labeled folders and keep notes on the effect on the game. Install Cloths and hacks and objects on seperate days, be highly organized. I'll try it next time I have to run these tedious tests. and I think getting the new disk would still need me to update a lot of hacks.
I still have a question How do I tell hacks from cloths from objects when reading the file names? do they have different file types? file sizes? you guys don't always name your files. Some people just number the files and thats when I can't tell what Im looking at. other file names don't just name the file but tack on there name, the website's name and other words loosing the object name in the over description.

When you download place your things either into a temporary testing folder or directly into named folders. So if you download a dress make it a folder eg "SunDressSet_AF_MTS" Do that immediately. I also keep a readme for all mods and a picture (when I can) of what I download. This does slow loading but I need them so I live with it. I never put downloads loose in my Download folder, I have hundreds of folders all labeled. You can also sub folder, but don't go too deep or that will slow loading just as special characters do. Notice how I used underscores in the name? Gaps take the game longer, brackets, fancy dodads, get rid of them. I would find a Adult female (AF) dress set folder inside my Adult Female clothing folder.

All added CC files are package files - that's what the game works with. The names whcih are completely numbers and letters have likely been installed at some point by the in game installer (even if you didn't do it, you got it from someone who did). It's likely that wasn't the original name. The good news is you can rename anything, as Jo said. Also sub-folder. Clean Installer is really useful in this regard. You can use it to scan your Downloads folder (be prepared, if it's a large folder this can take some time). You can then go through everything and sort it. CI tells you what type the item is (mod, wall, floor, skin, mesh etc.) and also the file name and also gives you a little picture of the texture. You can then use CI to move things around into sub-folders (it will let you create them too). I use these feature a lot, especially in the past, not so much now, but once I sorted all my female underwear by colour so I could look at it individually in Bodyshop and weed some stuff out (failed to reduce the size of my Downloads folder much but that's not the point). It will also show you duplicates (pink), mods (in red) and other stuff (I've forgotten again what the blue is).

Yes - it really pays to use subfolders when you add custom content. Not all creators use the same naming format even if they do name items helpfully. And some as you have found don't use any format at all!
There is a utility called Delphy's Download organiser which is useful for telling items apart as you can sort by type, read the description and view textures (but not images of the item itself.)
I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

Its a lesson learned the hard way. I discovered I had a few hacks Don't leave for comunity lots with out me, don't need babby sitters, and pets and toddlers can ride I took those out and things work fine.

Probably a conflict if any of those mods change the same code. There is nothing wrong with toddler riders, I use that myself; but I don't have the 'don't leave without me', could be that is clashing. If two mods are clashing you only need to remove one or sometimes just changing their load order will fix things. You don't necessarily have to remove all three. I'm not sure what the don't need babysitters mod is.

The 'don't leave without me' required a 2nd download, maybe you forgot that? There's a link at the bottom of the post for it, you need both downloads for it to work correctly. The mod is a fix for vehicles that left without selected family members who were supposed to leave too. http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=303977
Personally, I never used this mod and haven't had that problem.

Pescado's Lot Debbuger (moreawesomethanyou site) might be able to help.

the object would be in the Miscellaneous sub-section of the Miscellaneous section of Buy Mode when installed.
