Default Corrupted family
I've been working on my city project, and recently one of my families (alien family, precizely), has somehow gotten corrupted. Whenever I try to load it, the game ends in a eternal loading loop. Is there any solution to this, or is the only solution to delete the family?

Ok the first thing to try is can you move them out from the hood view? If so then move them onto a lot that is empty and see if they can be open to play.

I had this exact problem a couple of months ago.

I did as marka says and evicted them, and moved them into an empty lot. They were playable again. I was then able to move them back into their old home and everything has worked fine since, for the time being at least.

I have tried that, and apparently, it does not work for me. I have even tried moving them onto a new lot, and it still does not work. It's stuck on loading screen forever.

Have you tried moving them out one sim at a time, it may be only one is corrupt. Also have you looked at them in simpe?

Jo, the OP might not be able to move them out one at a time, since they can't load the house at all. Would the teleporter cat be of any help? (I don't use the teleporter cat, so I don't know exactly how it works or how it might be utilized.)

OP, do you have a backup that you can revert to?

I think I do... I meddled with some relationships in SimPE, but I have never touched that family. I'ts good that I have made backup, but then I'll lose some progress I have made since then. Is it possible to restore the old family using the backup neighborhood files, without corrupting something, and if it is... how?

Lol, yeah that was a smart suggestion I made, not! Well instead of loading the lot-since you can't. I would try it with a sim on a blank lot and a teleporter. Teleport one sim onto the lot see how they seem there. If they seem fine see if you can load that lot again. Rinse and repeat with each sim.

You can not swap files, you must delete the complete hood folder and put in a copy of the backup.

Well, then. the only way to do it is to save the lots and the families that I've made, swap the hood with the backup and then restore the progress. That's a lot of work to be done.

No that not want you want to do for that will cause corruption. The hood is toast and you can not put the families for this hood to your backup or you will cause even more corruption.

Well, I have almost settled the issue, using the teleporter, as some of you reccomended... but I f****d that up too. The issue was invisible Pollination Technician, that has found it's way into the family (no wonder, it was a family of a great alien lineage). I so regret it... I'm onto lot saving and family making after restoring the hood.

Also... that teleporter is the most usefull thing I've ever used in TS2.

Yikes, if you somehow had the universal PT in your lot your game installation could be toast. I really hope your installation files are set to read only.
