Default Glitch when resurrecting sims?
Hi, all. I'm having an issue when resurrecting sims using the Resurrect-o-Nomitron. So far, I've only tested it out on premade dead Sims whose gravestones are on the lot, such as Darleen Dreamer and Micheal Bachelor.

I am able to select the sim, pay Grim (I've only done the max amount), but after the pop up (and the deduction of the 10,000 simoleons from the family's funds) nothing happens except that build/buy mode are greyed out.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

If you're using the original neighbourhoods (and not the cleaned up versions) it might be because the dead sims have incomplete sim files. Try it with a (test) sim you create and kill off. The EAxis hoods, as shipped, are all incomplete and corrupt in some ways.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

Thanks! Will do. Should it also be in a custom neighborhood?

If I'm trying something new like this, I always do it in a custom neighborhood. It's always good to have a disposable Testing Town (you can name it something else if you prefer) to do this kind of thing in. That way if something breaks, you can just delete your Testing Town and start over.

According to the wiki article, Darleen is resurrectable, but there's a hidden clone of her that isn't. Maybe the game is trying to pick the wrong one? http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Darleen_Dreamer
The same applies to Michael.

If you give these ghosts graves by respawning them with the batbox, everybody in the family will get memories of these relatives dying if they didn't already have that memory. This may also trigger wants/fears of relatives becoming zombies if you have University. As soon as Melody Tinker realized her grandparents were dead, she immediately wanted to turn all of them into zombies.

To OP, see if you can resurrect these sims.

This link is for Pleasantview which I fixed all the dead and deleted and relink them to there families so they can all be resurrected. http://simfil.es/121828/
(I did not fix the extra Michael, Skip or Darleen, one of each is good to me and they are not linked to any family in Pleasantview.)

This is Strangetown that I did the same thing to, even fixed the missing DNA of the living sims. But be warned I did not fix the face templates in this or Pleasantview. http://simfil.es/121829/
(I don't remember if there are double sims in this and if they are then I only fixed one and not the other.)

Just remember the living sim must have met the dead to resurrect them, so you may have to resurrect a sim and have this sim resurrect the ones that are left. IE resurrect father and have father resurrect grand dad.

This is only true if you're using the Maxis methods built into the game (University's Resurrect-O-Nomitron, Freetime's genie wish, Apartment Life's wicked witch spell). There are several hacks and mods that will allow you to resurrect ghosts that your sim doesn't know. Cyjon has a hacked Resurrect-O-Nomitron that will allow any sim to resurrect any ghost buried on the same lot. Aaroneous' Sim Manipulator will allow you to resurrect any ghost in your neighborhood no matter where its grave is or whether any of your sims knew the ghost or not.

Yes RoxEllen1965 there are mods out there that do that but I was going on what the OP said (quote)Hi, all. I'm having an issue when resurrecting sims using the Resurrect-o-Nomitron.(end of quote)

That is why I gave links to the 2 I fixed to see if that was the problem OP was having that OP sims never met or the dead sims where un-linked because of EA forgot to link them.

Coming back in to say thanks for all the advice! I tested it in a custom neighborhood, and it worked fine. My guess is that my Pleasantview installation is borked somehow. I'll try meetme2theriver's cleaned up hoods if I want to try resurrecting the premades again.
