Hey
After I installed NL yesterday, I havent got any of my (much-needed) custom objects in the catalog (sp?). I have CC enabled on the dialog that comes up when you start the game, and 'Show CC in catalog' enabled. Any way to fix this? Thanks.

I don't know why this works, it just does - but make yourself a new downloads folder and make sure you use a capital D when you type the name on the folder. Remove the folder in your game and put it in a desktop folder. Put the new folder in your game. Now r-click on old folder and click copy. Go to new folder and click paste on it. Wait while your computer copies all your downloads to the new folder. When done, restart your computer. Then start up the game. It sounds dumb, but for Lord only knows what reason it works and all your downloads will work as normal.

It seems like every patch/expansion/whatever is overwriting the option to have custom content, so you need to remove your custom content or Downloads folder and then put it back in again. Don't need to go through the complicated matter Writin suggested.

I installed "The Sims2 Holiday Party Pack" and at the end of the installed it checked my game to see if it was the latest patch. I belive the latest NL patch comes on the party pack CD.

Guys, just wanted to make this clear, with NL the Downloads folder can be anything. I have Recolors, Hacks, MTS2 and Other as folders. If you only have a few downloads you can place them in the Sims 2 folder.

desynched - with any official Content Pack or Expansion Pack that Maxis sells they will include an updater, but you still have to download the patch.

I think what ts1&2fanatic means is theat with NL, there aren't any restrcitions on subfolders. Before NL, you couldn't have bodyshop content subfoldered.

the problem is how your downloads folder is named. if it doesn't have a capital D the game won't be able to detect half your downloads. simply make sure your downloads folder starts with capital D and they will all work. no need to copy, paste etc. trust me it works.

ToRnado, It is a proven fact that in NL it does not matter what you call the downloads folder. With Uni, I had a "downloads" folder (notice the lowercase 'd'). You do not even have to have a downloads folder. You can put downloads in My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2.
The only time capitalization counts in MS Windows is with the internet, passwords and in some cases usernames.
You can call it "Bob" if you want to! Would you like some screenshots?

How would you get it to recognize names other than "Downloads?"

BS the downloads folder MUST start with a capital D. i had the same problem with half my stuff not showing up and i looked my downloads did not have capital d soon as i made it Captial D all my stuff reappeared. you DON'T need to delete and reinstall your downloads. i've done it and it works and i've told others to do it and it solved all their probems too. so i don't know where you get your FACTS from.
