 Sims2 will not start!

Hi. My sims2 game will not start. I double click the icon, sims2 screen comes up, and then it just carrys on loading. I have left it doing this for up to an hour with no results what so ever. I am in 2 sims contests at the moment, so it is important that I can get the sims working quickly. I have been having issues with space on my computer, but thought I had cleared enough. Help.... Thanks PS I have both EPs with no patches installed |

Have you added any custom content lately? If so, you'll probably find it's something you downloaded. Go through your downloads folder and disable any hacks. If this doesn't work you could remove the latest objects/ sims/ clothes you put in to see if that helps. As a last resort you could move your downloads to the desktop to see if that helps. |

thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'll go through it and see if it works(I download a lot of custom content regularly) |
