This is good, basic stuff for beginners, good job... Sidenote: at the end of the document, it says 12+3+16. 12+3=15. Did you mean to write 12+4=16? Just letting you know. |

I love the tutorial, it's fab, but I have a question.... How do you make the foundation higher than 4 clicks? Is there a tutorial I've missed? thanks x |

None of these links work...could somebody explain to me -dumb proof please- how to create a split level staircase with only one landing (as high as 2 foundations on top of each other) between the stairs & connected to a wall (not free standing!!!) and if possible with screenshots? I tried the floor elevation cheat...ok tried first the normal foundation n then the interior foundation on top...it works, but now the connected outside wall is too low n there's no way to connect the wall with the other walls that are not adjacent to the foundation. Next I tried to raise the ground up I did and created a staircase with split level, but now I have slopes in the house and if I try to flatten them out, so it will flatten out the floor tiles on the split level SOS - I am goin mad not figuring out how to do that...!

Working on learning this technique from this link listed above; http://sims2.s103.xrea.com/stairtutorial/stairs.html But I get the messege "Cant intersect wall" when I try step 6 (placing the left and right staircase to the mid level landing). I've got 2 tiles between the wall and the landing which should be correct, but??? Any ideas what to try next? |

If this is inside a house, try using moveobjects on. M&G I think created an issue where modulart stairs can only be placed indoors with the cheat. |

Sometimes when you are trying to place modular stairs post-M&G, the only thing that works is to remonve wall sections next to the stairs and replace them after you have finished putting in the stairs. Notice I am not talking about the landing, I am talking about the side of the stairs. I think it is because of the sliding-down-the-banisters animation. |

Yes, I've noticed this. I used to build houses, years ago during the Maxis Exchange days, and I never had this problem. Now that I've repurchased TS2 Double Deluxe, the modular stairs often refuse to install. I either delete the surrounding walls or use "moveobjects on" cheat. The stairs will install, provided everything is correct For those folks who are having trouble with some of the links, all of the Mike Inside links work for me, and that is the old site where I learned almost all of my trick building. The Mike Inside site is hosted by this site, MTS, yet there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut way of getting there. I suggest interested readers simply bookmark it. MI has some of the best, easy to understand building tutorials, which all include pictures. Mike Inside is listed under Fansites in the Sims Wiki. |
