I have a pregnant Maxis-made Sim who whenever she goes into labor, the baby isn't born. She goes through the labor motions, the dialog with "a new family member is coming" appears, then the baby's icon appears, but the baby itself does not appear and the mother still looks pregnant. Not only that but I cannot save, go into buy mode, go into build mode, or exit. The only way to even exit the game is to Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose End Program.

I thought there was simply an error with the family so I tried another family in the same neighborhood also pregnant with her firstborn. The same thing happens in that household as well. I have two baby-related cheats: alien abduction with male/female pregnancy and triplets/quads hack.

Before and after adding them, the problem occurred. I know that it doesn't affect every pregnant Sim, but it only seems to affect Maxis-made Sims. I had a Maxis-made Sim marry a user created Sim and everything was fine, they had two daughters without any problems. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if you have, can you tell me how to fix it?

ive never sem this problem before,however i have some solutions yu should take before binning the game:P

you could try to remove the haks and test the family again (for security purposes), also these hacks could be faulty, so as a precaution i suggest yu download and run the sims2pack Clean Installer http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/index.php?page=3 here. Use this to remove any faulty downlods that you have which could be ottentially causing poblems and with its simple to use interface, just click the little "disable" buton with anything the colour red and pink, although note that not all dowloads with these colours are bad, and if you disable any of your content and the problem stl loccurs then the downloads are easily enabled again.

another method to carry out after folowing the above method; try a reinstallation. If you have any new neighbourhoods then back these up: "my docs/ ea games/ the sims 2/neighbourhoods" and move any folders above N003 onto your desktop. NOTE dont move N003 to the desktop as this is a maxis made neighbouhood and we want the game to remove any fautls in the reinstallation. Also now that we know that the downloads arent causing a probelm,we can also remove them. "my docs/ea games/the sims 2" and move the whole downloads folder onto your dekstop. Now we can perform the reinstallation.

Now think, when did this error star occuring: Was it after instaling Nightlife, or Uni or even just the sims2. Well this is important because this is the game we are going to reintall:
user control panel / add or remove programs / the sims game (the game causing problems)

Now reinsert your disk and perform an installation, once intalled you can put your downloads and neighbourhood folders back into the same place that they were removed from.

your done.:D

However if this problem still continues to happen then i suggest you contact EA games, ad download a patch, If this or their methods stil dont work, then im afraid you will need another game,
just take it back to your retailer and ask a customer services if you could get another copy as your curent one i brocken.

Please let us at MTS2 know how you get on and which method worked best for you, for future references with the same problem

Are you using any custom skintones, or the mannekin skintone?

Well, I installed my Sims 2 through Nightlife in my other computer and the pregnancy works fine even with the hacks I have. I suppose I can reinstall but it still doesn't explain why it only happens on that computer.

Are the hacks and custom content NL ready? Sometimes non- ep items can appear to work correctly, but may cause unpredictable problems. Your best bet is to go back to the computer where you're having problems, and remove all your custom content. Add it back in halves so that you can figure out what is causing the problem.

I had something wrong with my family. i dont have quads and triplets hack but 1 of my sims just had quads. how it happened was she was giving birth so she got the box sayin a new family member is in the way so she had the 1 baby then it said name baby,then she puth the baby down and she looked normal and she went in to labour again and the sam thing happerend again, then again then again. has this happened to others

Shiny, did you get the latest update for nightlife from maxis? I believe the problem you have was one of the bugs addressed.
