Old 2nd Jan 2006, 01:25 PM Default3D Max mesh importing and exporting question #1

May be a really silly question, but I need a little help with getting 3D Max working for object/sim meshes. I don't need help creating meshes, I'm just trying to find a way to bring meshes from The Sims 2 into Max (v.4), and export new meshes in a usable format. It's the importing from The Sims 2 in particular that isn't working for me.

I did a couple of searches and did find plenty of nice tutorials about mapping textures and basic 3D modeling, but these aren't quite what I'm looking for. Can anyone either:
a) Answer my questions about importing/exporting meshes or;
b) Point me in the direction of a good tutorial or needed plugin that is either 3D Max or Maya specific. These are programs I know, and having Max at home it is my #1 choice.

I'm also fine with Strata 3D, and have access to it as well, but I've never seen mention of that program anywhere as relates to Sims 2 so I'm not holding out much hope for that one. Besides, I really prefer 3D Max if possible.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out.

(P.S. I did look, and not just here, so if anyone just wants to tell me "this is what the search button's for" don't bother, ok. )

pandora sims 2 has some tutorials using 3d max. 1 of them is about exactly what your looking for: importing and exporting meshes into the game.
