now i've already uploaded one house, and it worked out fine...later when i tried packaging another to a file, my game crashed right in the middle of it, i've cleaned my downloads, and checked for hacks and everything-is there any other reason why my game is crashing?

Got any custom terrain paints on the lot?

Ever clicked on a custom terrain paint while on the lot?

Please don't PM me with questions. Post them in the appropriate thread.

If it is a custom terrain issue the lot is forever unpackagable.
There's no fix available.

I had a problem like this when I tried to package one of my lots a while ago. It was a house that I had made on the exchange a long time ago and I was getting rid of all the custom stuff and uploading it here. Even when I had removed the custom terrain paint, it still crashed. I wish there was a way to fix it. However, it didn't occur on another house that origonally had custom terrain paint. It packaged without any trouble. It just happens sometimes.

Hi !

I have another problem. When I upload a lot ( I think it is the reason, because I didn't do it directly ) I get with it some recolor doors. I noticed, when I like to use this door, my game is always crashed. :o(((( I try to delete this recolor, but I CAN'T !! Because, when I click on it, and try to delete, the game is crash all the time.

I check the downloads with Clean Installer, check with SimPE. I found some of this door with Clean, but the problem is still have. In the SimPE I found the original doors, but I don't like to delete it, because it my favorite door, and I afraid, it make more problem.

How can I delete this recolor ?
(Sorry my English :err: )

(I pick up the downloads, and start the game without it, and this door work ! )

and i'm sorry for posting again here, but i've read the link- so if i don't plan on uploading any of my current lots, would it be possible to delete all my current custom terrains, for future insurance, so i don't have to worry about this bug for my future building projects???

Many of my houses that I've released here on MTS2, I've made them a long time ago and origonally released them to the exchange. Well, those houses were loaded with custom content, and I had to clean them out of it before releasing them here. What I did was I used the Clean Installer to remove everything but the custom terrain paints and segment for uploads. I then went into the game and got rid of all the terrain paints, saved, went back in, and put a non-custom terrain paint on the house. It will sometimes still not allow you to package it, but it worked every time for me. Then, I used the Clean Installer again to get rid of the custom terrain paint files, as they are not used, they would not harm the lot anymore. Clicking on a terrain paint when in build mode can and probably will put that file in the game. When I looked at one of my old houses of the exchange, I saw tons of custom terrain paints that weren't even used in the lot. Those must be left behind with the segment for uploading until you package the lot with no custom content inside. Then, remove the files. There is curretly no other way at fixing this bug, and it's one that needs to be fixed the most.

If you plan on packaging any of your exsisting lots, what you should do with your terrains is to mark them as read only, put them in a subfolder (if you have nightlife) and never, ever touch them again.
If you want to be safe in the future; delete all the custom terrains you don't intend to use.
I have just one custom terrain paint and that's snow.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

You're probably not in the same situation as me. You are probably trying to package a lot and it's not one you've released on another site. Here's all I know...
#1. Don't use any custom terrain paints in your lot, don't even go to the terrain paint section. If you've done so already, yes, you're probably screwed.

#2. Well, I guess there is no number two, just dn't even click on the custom terrain paints. I'm afraid you'll just have to go with the plain defalt grass. (or deser, if you're in strangetown) If you've already clicked on a custom terrain paint, you might just have to start over and not do that whatsoever. One mistake of clicking, and I guess you are screwed! :sorry:

That just might be the best option avalible. And after all custom terrain paints are out of your game for good, always be on the look out for them in any lot you download, and don't download any custom terrains. If you want the lot, use the Clean Installer to make sure it stays out of the game.

And even though they haven't publicly said much about this problem, it should be brought up and the problem should be fixed. But until then, custom terrain paints are the enemy! :salute:
