Okay, the Maxis texture map for the small green grill is looking down on it. Should I make my new map for it in the same orientation? Also, does it matter where I move the 'groups' in UV Mapper Classic? Is there any other way to Apply texture to a custom mesh? Mine is quite complicated. Does anyone know of any good tutorials? Please Help! ![]() |

Have you read Numenor's article on UVMapper Classic here? There are other ways to uv-map, too, like "inside" some 3D editors, even though I'm not personally familiar with them. I always use UVMapper Classic. I divide my mesh into several groups for easier mapping and mostly use planar or cylindrical maps for those parts. You can move the groups anywhere on the map, either have them separate or overlapping each other, depending on how you want them textured. Try to be economical about the mapping, and not leave any large unused areas if possible. I often map several parts into the same area when I know that I want them to use the same texture. This saves a lot of space and you may be able to use a smaller texture image. |
