Ok wow I have been a web browser for 15 years and it took me a century to find where to post this and I am still not convinced thi sis the right place so if it isn't I apologize but it's like this site is workign hard to confuse me so I don't post questions. Very hard and non intuative to get around in the forums here.

This is my question.

I have several 128 x 128 movie files to add to commercials and or music videos in the tv. My problem is I have never been able to see them get past the first few seconds. It starts goes 2-3 seconds and repeats and will continue to repeat forever. I have always had this problem with movie files but I would REALLY like to get these working. I have a full minute of elvis's king creole song and can view it out of game but as I said in game it will not show it in a proper loop.

I wondered if it was a windows setting maybe I don't have movie rotations on by default [just view once and stop rather then loop] but then I thought how could that matter since all other movies in game work.

SO I pose this question to you uber guru's. What's the secret and or trick to get this working correctly? I just hope I can find my post again to view the answers. Thanks again I really will appreciate this help.

Do you have them in the right format? They need to be .avi-clips and also it shouldn't have more then 15 frames per second.

Yes I've heard of that bug and its simply because you're not formatting them correctly, and it's forcing the computer to use an inproper codec, which causes the sound loop. Are you having just a sound loop or a complete video and sound loop?

Both video and sound loop. These were already in 128 x 128 avi and supposedly working for sims2 as others use them. I guess I'll have to dig up some video editing software and confirm they are 15 frames or less

Ok I just dug up my video editing software [most of it was mpg stuff] So virtualdub Confirms it's 15 frames per second. You are supposed to put the files into the music area off my documents not program files I assume [like the mp3 files]. Sigh Wish I could get this figured out.

Yes, they go into my documents, and into the movie/ broadcast folder. Can you get any other movies to work, for example this one?

Wow. That file DOES work the one you linked. Sigh how retarded that a 15 frame movie was on another sight and doesnt work for me. I wonder how I can take this 15 frame [confirmed] avi and convert it into a movie file I can view. Any hints or tips on what programs will convert avi's [or create them] into the correct formats for sims? If I can't get this elvis video to work maybe I will make my own.

Says goodbye to my elvis king creole video lol

Actually I sat there fiddling with different codecs and have since discovered that it's the sound that is skipping the actual video itself does play from front to back. I am going to have to assume that the sound layered into this video is gimped. I can't see a way to edit the sound layer with virtual dub [I actually had virtual dub already on my computer from years ago great program]. I need to get a lead on a good program for editing removing and etc the sound files already layered into video.
