An update The bug I was experiencing is very similar to the bug those on thesims2.com forum are experiencing as well. Either read the full post here (http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/communit...item.41,item.23) Or read my brief summation. If you have ANY issues with food, restocking, etc. the proposed workaround is NOT to restock ANY food items (or use the command restock) until you have enough food in the business owner's inventory to restock all that is missing on the shelves. Apparently ONCE it tries to restock food that ISN'T in your inventory, the bug appears. Also once the restocking issue happens, you must manually move the food to the shelves or move out->go back to build mode and RESAVE, or move into a different lot. Also, as far as I know, the restocking flag jump has happened with minimal hacks and regardles of jaxad's community -> resi hack. If you are curious, try it yourself. I have duplicated the issue on a test lot. My original post Quote:

Well, the custom fridge/stove thing is likely due to those simply having been made before OfB. They don't include the same options that OfB stoves/fridges do, and therefore can't be used for mass-making of food items. Perhaps we'll end up with a batch fix or hack for this, or we may just have to live with it. The restock signs jumping to the edge of the lot is a bug. If you look in the download thread for the place custom objects on OfB shelves hack by Numenor, you'll see info on why this occurs and how to minimize it happening, and what to do when it does. We're hoping this'll be fixed in the patch. The inventory thing seems to be a bug, too... I've not experienced it myself, but I've heard about it from others. Again, hopefully the patch will fix it. Your info on moving the family and hitting save in build mode is interesting. I wonder if others have the same result you describe. |

Just checking, do you have the latest version (17 Mar 2006) of my ResiBusi hack? Earlier versions can cause some of those problems. |

I believe that a Sim will only place a "made" object in their inventory when they are doing a "make many..." interaction. Otherwise the object stays on the workbench. At least this is the experience I've had. |

Yup, that's correct. Only the 'make many' option automatically puts the crafted item into the inventory. |

And it usually puts it in the business owner's inventory, not the inventory of the person who is making the items. |

Sorry for the delay folks. My net went poof for a day! Quote:
The funny thing was, it happened regardless of your hack. I downloaded it after all the errors that occured and it seemed to work fine. Here is more information regarding the bugs... http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/communit...item.41,item.23 Thanks for the posts everyone! I am reading them now. BTW, I'm avoiding the newest patch... |

Sorry about the typo. I did mean "make many" not simply make. *corrects post* |

I've had the jumping restock flag both before I installed the OfB patch and after. It only seems to happen to me in regards to restocking the food freezers. I also just got the horrendous bug where when I have an employee restock I'm told I don't have the items in the inventory (even though I do), and the items disappear from aforementioned inventory. So basically the game is still taking out the food from the owner's inventory, but isn't restocking the shelves with it. It's beyond annoying, especially when I didn't even realize what was happening the first few times. My Sims have wasted so much time, energy, and more importantly family funds making food that just disappears when I try to restock. I have no problem getting items into the owner's inventory, both when the owner herself cooks AND when her roommate does. I hope this is resolved soon, because it's damn hard running a business when one of the most important aspects (restocking) doesn't work how it's supposed to. Bonus issue: Food often (almost always) doesn't appear in the inventory when "Make many..." is being used. Two will appear, but once a third is made it seems to delete the ones already in the inventory. |

This may be a dumb question, but are you certain additional food is disappearing and they haven't just given up? It seems to me like when I choose "Make Many" they only make three or four and then give up because there isn't enough food in the fridge to continue. I go check the amount of food in the fridge and it's a low amount from 4 - 15 or so. (iirc) Anyways, I just wondered if it was possible that your Sims were stopping because the fridge was empty? |
