If anyone is working on MAC port of SimPE please reply here. If no one is then is anyone interested? I am. And am willing to port it myself... Anyone over at SimPE headquarters willing to share the source code?

Edit: Lets expand this topic to include any type of Mac tools that people want...

me too, Nailti, that makes two of us... I thought there would be a bigger response... not very encouraging so far. Are all the creative Mac users hanging out on some other site maybe?

You may want to check with Quaxi over on the Sim PE site- there was a discussion about this over on the forum. It's down at the moment, but check in when it's back up.

i am interested in having a program in creating things that I want to design, and it's such a slow process to wait for that some people just give up for a lil while because if you just wait you'll never play the actual game. I also think that there should be version of those programs be made a little more user friendly.

I would love to get a MAC version of SIMPE! I'd be able to get my shop clerks out of those vulgar green aprons. :0) & a cleaninstaller would be quite helpful as well.

More than anything I need clean installer. I can't upload anything on here because I don't have it, and it's not really my fault that I don't.

I second to all of these. Mac versions are desperately needed.

Wow. I just recovered this username after nearly four years of this account being inaccessible... Oh happy day!
(Btw, PsychoKatie and Psycho_Katie = same person. A site-wide glitch messed up accounts four years ago and I had to remake one...)

Well, getting some positive responses... thats great. I have started work on a Mac OS X sims 2 tool. I have a beta version pretty much ready to upload.. just need to figure out where to upload it. putting the finishing touches on it right now.. like an about box and application icon.

This is the plan, going to build this tool in stages:
1. Smart backup utility - backup your complete entire 'User/Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2' - that includes everything in the downloads and music folders. Were talking about a Giga byte or more crunched down to 50MB or less. Need this because whenever you mod your game bad things can happen so back ups are a MUST - also Smart Backups give you an unlimited number of save game slots instead of the one slot that maxis gives you.

2. Clean Installer/Package Viewer - at least as good as CleanPackInstaller for windows machines. Gives you user friendly download folder management, as well as viewing the innerworkings of .package files.

3. Package Editor - on the order of SimPE. This stage may or may not be a seperate application... We'll see.

Stage 1 is complete and ready for beta testing... I'll post here when I get it uploaded...

Mac tools would be great! I'd love to be able to work on my own clothing, object, and building meshes. If anyone can make tools for all of us Mac Simmers it'd be fantastic and i'm sure very appreciated.

Just so everyone knows: its been several days and almost 300 downloads (including both versions) without any issues so I have decided to call WooHoo v1.01b a final release... beta test is complete...

the about box and finder will still say v1.01b until i get another version uploaded... if you have v1.01b keep it... when I upload v1.01 it will be identical to v1.01b except for the little b

These tools will be wonderful and much appreciated once they are completed. Tried using SimPE in virtual pc and that worked well (translated as not at all )

I would dearly love to see SimPE and Clean Installer ported to OS X, partly so I can see what's in the lots I download (downloaded a lot recently that claimed to be hack free... imagine my surprise when my mailbox suddenly had a whole boatload of options that I, uh, really didn't want).

Right now, when I have time, I put the lots on a flash drive and check them on my work PC, but I don't always have time and it's cumbersome. And embarrassing, when a colleague walks up and I am looking at computer-modelled houses. *G*

So I'm just saying, yeah, count me in.

this is great, when do you expect them to be finished, or has it kind of been blown off?
