Hi,recently the cursors on the Sims 2 have been "sticking"...a.k.a I get stuck with say,a plain cursor when selecting anything or the little asterix cursor. it's really starting to bug me..espically because yesterday, when i tried to place a house onto my neighbourhood..it just wouldnt happen. The selected house from the lots + houses bin is highlighted like normal but when i roll the mouse over to the neighbourhood it just doesnt appear... I think this may have been caused by a pop up from windows about virtual memory a few days ago which messed up the game.. if this is so...what can i do about it? Does it need a complete re-install?

You can change your virtual memory setting quite easily in system properties. But I'd recommend cleaning up your PC and performing some malware and virus scans too, as well as defragmenting the disc.

Hey simsample..thanks for that tip..but my question is more about the sticking cursors, which are really beginning to bug me. The abilty not to be able to place houses etc... Does it need a new Sims 2 installation?

As you mentioned that you had a pop up from windows about virtual memory, I would guess that the cursor problem and the virtual memory pop up are related. If it was a legitimate Windows message then you could have game problems with a low page file size. If it wasn't a legitimate Windows message then you have a malware problem. Either way, altering your page file size and cleaning up your system can only help your game.
