This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2
Default Cigen.package???
I was wondering what the heck cigen.package is and why it shows up in my downloads folder? Also... Obviously I cannot install cleaninstaller or simPE, so how can I detect the "bad download" that keeps crashing my game? Im sure its a bad download b/c its happened a bunch of times before. I'm sick of having to reinstall my game and lose EVERYTHING... Please help!

cigen.package is a file generated by the game - it shouldn't be in your downloads folder, though, it should be in the main Sims 2 directory. It can be deleted and will be regenerated - and sometimes deleting it can help in game problems if something's gone wonky with the existing file.

You may not be able to scan with Clean Installer to detect hacks, but you can still use the "divide by halves" method to narrow down what file(s) are causing a problem for you and remove them: http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139702

It's written for Windows, but the method of moving files in and out in batches still applies.

Cigen seems to consist mostly of a directory of thumbnail images; it seems to be the number one culprit if Bodyshop will not load. You can safely delete cigen (it regenerates whenever you load Bodyshop), and groups.cache can also be deleted.
For the 'bad' download:

Edit- D'oh, HP beat me to it!

thanks... HP, you were right; cigen.package isnt in downloads, just in the main sims 2 directory. I guess I'll do the dividing method, very creative (why didnt I think of that? duhhh) but aaargh it takes a loong time! *grrr!*
