The first four sims - Sephiroth, Riku, Sora, and Cloud, all work for me. However, I've downloaded other characters such as Aeris, and when she herself is uploaded, the system crashes. I have restarted, reinstalled, downloaded the new EA patch recently, tried downloading other sims - from both here and the official website, and all have failed. The only conclusion I can make is that because I live in Europe, the systems may be different from the US - so I downloaded a Kadaj sim from the EA site that was a UK English version, but that too, didn't work. It also doesn't add up since the Sephiroth, etc, sims, worked for me. They still do.

Can someone please help me? I don't understand why the first four sims have worked for me, and the others have not. My system is Windows 2000, and a custom-made PC. Any help is greatly appreciated, and apologies for questions.

If you only have the base game as your profile suggests, then it could be that the sims you are attempting to download contain material which requires an EP. Regional differences have no bearing on this. Try using the Clean Installer to install the sims, and just install the sim itself with no content.

I've downloaded the Clean Installer, but it says I need a 'NET Framework' to install it. What does this mean? Again, apologies for questions

It means you need the .net framework installed- more details are available on the site where you downloaded the clean installer:

I've installed the .net framework, and the Sims2Clean Installer. I've downloaded all of the same sims that gave me trouble again and installed them, but - it still doesn't work. Seems I have all the luck, lol ^_^;;

Did you try just installing the Sim and none of the content?

I installed the sim alright, yes. How do you install the content? Will I send you a screenshot of what I have? It might make life easier for both of us ^_^;

It is a known problem that if you install a lot or sim that has a lot of custom content, the lot/ sim does not show up. It is usually solved by installing the sim or lot seperately.
