I got her permission for translating her tutorial and using her pics.
She wrote the tut because I asked her how she built an incredible pool 3 weeks ago.

Step 1
Built a room at the size and the place you want your bridge to be:




Step2
Now open the cheatconsole with <<Hold down "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "c" at the same time>>
and type in "boolProp ConstrainFloorElevation false" and push enter to enable the cheat.

Step 3
Build a foundation inside the room.




After this your going-to-be-a-bridge should look like that:




Step 4
Choose a floor and cover the foundation with it, dark wood for example.

Step 5
Switch downstairs and delete the wall of your room.




Step 6
Switch back upstairs and place your stairs and fences.




Step 7
The active cheat enables you to lift the ground underneath
the bridge and through that the bridge, too.




If you're happy with what you got disable the cheat with
"boolProp ConstrainFloorElevation true". Now you can flat the
ground without destroying your bridge...




Step 8
It's pooltime! Build the pool the way you like.




Step 9
Invest a bit time and fantasy to decorate the whole thing and it can be
an eyecatcher like that one:

An excellent tutorial!!!
I saw this late last night and had a theory I wanted to test...but ahhh it was very late, so I just now tested what I had in mind!!!!

I used the arched bridge tutorial method I always use for umm arched bridges. I apologise to the author of that tutorial, for not knowing their name.
This leaves out the step where you make a wall around ths sides etc etc!

I used the foundation that is on 'stilts', then went down a level, and deleted the so called stilts by CTRL and using the pool tool. The I proceeded in making the bridge arched!
I had an idea that I wouldnt be able to place a pool underneath the bridge, so I tested that & Of course NO you cant!
My next idea was to bring the pool up to & as far as I could, before the pool turned the red color (meaning you cant place there).
I had the idea to Use another tutorial I read and have used a while ago......where you can place a pool inside a house and bring this all the way outside, so the pool looks like an indoor & outdoor pool all in one!
Ummm I apologise again to the author of that tutorial
This is what I did........Held down CTRL & dragged the pool tool from where the other part of the pool was placed, let go of the pool tool, then CTRL, then without moving th mouse, clicked once with the pool tool.....and low and behold...it WORKED!!
Sooo what I will do, is research these two tutorials that I fail to remember the author, and put a few screenshots of what I did, linking these 2 tuts.
Sorry if this is ummm a bit garbled as I am excited LOL

It's by By SimSherry2 & is for a Fountain Pavillion, so you just leave out the pavillion part & just make the arched bridge!

I cant find the indoor outdoor pool tutorial, but I do remeber it was at TheSims2.com, and it was all about little tricks with building or something!

So make your arched bridge like in the tutorial link

Then go down a level




Go to top down view so you can see better!




Try to place a pool underneath the bridge...you cant..




So just bring th pool to the edge of the bridge....




Next you need to hold down CTRL & at the same time drag from a corner of the existing pool, with the pool tool, out and under the bridge.
Let go of the mouse button, but DONT move the mouse!
Let go of CTRL....
Then click once with the mouse.....




You should now have a pool under the bridge




Of course decorate like in kathascha2's tutorial above!

This is such a great idea. I just wish I read about it before spending days on my first community lot for upload! Now I have to do it all over!

Does anyone know if the tutorial will work for in indoor pool? See pics below. I want arched bridges over segments of an indoor pool.

Maybee if you made the bridges, (either arched or straight) BEFORE you placed the pool, or walls etc, then placed your pool under them?????????

I've just tested the indoor pool with bridges & it works









The only thing is....I couldnt place floor tiles for the second floor above where the arched bridges were, so I used the flatten terrain tool, this didn't work, so I built a second floor without floortiles, hence the 2 storey windows, then went up a level, and used the flatten terrain tool there, so if a sim wanted to have an upstairs, the 3rd floor would actually be the second floor...ahhhhhhh hope you get my meaning LOL

PS I suppose they could actually use the REAL second floor for living, just not over the bridges. So that area over the bridges would be a void area 'open to below'

I'm really looking forward to testing this in my game and seeing if it works! I'm not a good architect BUT i'm working on a house at the moment.. and if I can figure out how to upload it it might be put on here! it uses a bit of cc but..... I really didn't have a choice! BTW thank you very much for this tutorial, it will be useful for the house! it is almost californian style, with all the palm trees on the lot!

I tried yesterday building the bridge, following the instructions as closely as possible, and I just can't get the 'Arched' way without destroying the whole bridge. I was getting angry, so I gave up.

What a great tutorial, thank you for sharing.
