Which part of xmsims is sharable? I've always taken the 2nd FAQ entry to mean 'none': May I post XM Sims items on my website or other website? All items in XM Sims are for personal use only. I don't authorize anyone to offer my original creations for download or for profit in any method, even if credit is given. |

Thanks anyone who has given in the nice infos..., especially patul... I never know there're so many sites out there...! That tells how much I dl things...:P! I remember there's an ausie site with hacks, tools and custom objects free for use in any way... Also, I still thought simgedoehns2.de does not allow their donation gifts redistributed, right or wrong (I'm unsure)? Altho nobody is perfect, with someone to help check the validity of the infos, the imperfection is diminished as a result and we all get the fruit of such interaction. Thanks eveybody who has helped.

Patul -- Fantastic effort. You have a few I hadn't found yet -- and from the size of my DL folder, it would seem like I must have visited every site in the universe. Inge -- So glad to see your new things. Niol -- I don't think anyone allows redistribution of their donation & pay sets. Sort of defeats the purpose. |

4esf allows redistribution of their build/outdoor stuff, i.e. windows, doors, fences, stairs, plants etc.. As does Reflexsims and the reflexsims forum. |

Thank you Patul, your list seems the twin of mine. I've just checked those well known sites that are not listed here but I have in my "fav" and discovered that they do not have a really friendly sharing policy, I mean many of them don't allow the redistribution but allow adding the link to them. It's interesting. This also answer to myself when I'd like to upload houses with ALL the CCs I have and then decide to limit myself or to choose Maxis items only. Your list is really useful and open an interesting sites surfing. Kiss and ciao. |

I would prefer very much that we get a list of sites where everything is allowed.. period. From the mod side of it, it's very confusing to see an item from a site that has both pay sets and free sets and it's not specified which set it's from. Grey areas over which items can and can't be included really slows down the approval process. Also, one idea that has been kicked around is that all content in the pics has to be included.. no showing us a beautifully furnished home full of custom items and then find out we're getting an empty lot. |

Thanks for the list Patul, i already had them in my bookmarks most of them. Lately i have spend days organising my downloads folder and mostly got rid of items that cannot be redistributed with lots. I have high appreciation for sites that allow their content to be included with lots.And lately i only download something after i make sure it is re-distributable. For casa antiqua i spend almost a week trying to find what to use and what not to use but it was worth it , i mean as cynical chick said i wouldnt feel nice to showcase a furnished lot just in the pics.What you see must be what you get. Btw since we talk about sites here, does anyone know if mango sims allow distribution with lots. I have searched the whole site and i cant find a faq. Thanks i will be adding to this list if i find more. |

Thanks Patul. That's a very handy list. Perhaps we could create a section on the wiki for sites that allow their stuff to be included in Lot uploads (not the exchange) |

You may upload any of my meshes along with your recolors and lot uploads to any free site. I'll even let you use my meshes as a starting point for your projects as long as you take responsibility for any explosions and do not charge for the mesh. :D |

Corvi, This list is also for this purpose ! "Open" sites meshers will have a little better exposure and perhaps other meshers or site will allow re-uploading easily. As you, I suppose, I try to download only redistribuable build/buy items, so when i search something for my game I go first in these sites. Corvi I hope I help you to make more beautiful lots (if it is possible) without the boring task of searching the policies, searching creators is sufficient ! O.T : I am glad to see your avatar

There's rumor around (and this is good), see there http://www.snootysims.com/ and there http://www.federation-of-free-sims-...g/Manifesto.htm The bad thing is that either because I'm trying to add some good free site to this list and because I have to complete the CCs list of a new house I "would" upload, I'm realizing that the friendly redistribution policy is really a rare thing. I'm goign to re-build and re-furnish my house because I'm frustrated; if what is in the upload pics is what one have to download (it's right), then it's better to rid off all the CCs I have in my download folder but I can't add to a new house. Just frustrating, even some sites I was absolutely sure they'll get permission actually don't. Not easy to stay in the zen mood today. BTW, I'm happy too for the corvi original-avatar back here. Can we add Simaholics R Us ? We only offer recolors right now (and lots of lots) but all of our stuff is free to use anywere. With any luck the recolors attaching to lots issue with Pets will be resolved and then we may be become a handy little site. That and I'm learning to mesh. IF I ever get meshing (it's coming along) those will be offered there too. Catherine |
