I have installed Sims 2 Seasons and now every time I start up the Sims 2 it changes to 800 x 600 resolution. I have tried going into the game settings to change the resolution but only the 800 x 600 option is there whereas previously 1024 x 768 was there as well.

It is just the game this happens to when using my PC normally the resolution is 1024 x 768.

Anyone know how I can get my resolution back to 1024 x 768?

Thanks

Seasons has raised the computerspecs. Could you please post your specs? http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=112711
It's possible your pc just can't handle the higher resolution after Seasons.

Right, I have a dedicated PC for the Sims but it isn't the best in the world. The specs for seasons require 1.3GHz processor, this is only a 1.0GHz - could this be causing my problem??

It could be causing a problem, although 1,3 GHz was already required for Pets. Could you please post the full specs for your computer, including your video card?

The system ran Pets fine, I have taken screenshots of the PC spec - sorry about the large images.

The same thing happened to me, here's a fix I found for it:

http://www.simonhampel.com/the-sims...roblems-solved/

Only where it says "C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/TSData/Res/Config/Graphics Rules.sgr", go to "C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/The Sims 2 Seasons/TSData/Res/Config/Graphics Rules.sgr".

It will initially run in 800x600, but you can change it through the options menu.

Dorka found this, over at S2C and it worked brilliantly for people:

Open "Graphics Rules.sgr" in notepad, you can find it in the Seasons expansion directories. search for the section called "option ScreenModeResolution"
Under that section set the maximum resolutions.
There are 4 setting sections each with "uintProp maxResWidth " and "uintProp maxResHeight "
Set all Widths and heights to the maximum possible for your video card/monitor for example.

setting $Low
uintProp maxResWidth 1280
uintProp maxResHeight 1024"

Touch my mind

Ahh thank you so much for this! My monitor is FAR too big to play in 800x600, I nearly died when there were no more screen sizes!

here are my specs, but i thought i would avoid the screen size issue with nVidia GeForce 6200...

800x600 is seriously diminishing my desire to play the sims longer than 30 min. is there a way i can edit the settings? so all the resolutions are available:
800x600
1024x768
10x612
1152x864
1280x720
1280x768
1280x960
1280x1024
