first off: i'm sorry if this information is in other threads. i've been looking through the help forums for quite some time not, and even though i have found a lot of new helpful information, i can't seem to find exactly what i'm looking for.

second off: i'm typing on a sticy keyboard, so i'm sorry for any typos in advance. i'll try to catch all my mistakes.

so here's my problem: after spending hours of [now useless] cc downloads, i improperly installed all files. i just threw fies into my downloads folder without a though about proper installation and organization.

things were going fine untill i.. well i don't know ecactly know what i did, but when i got around to the 1,000t file [1,232 to be exact] my game starte to get "jumpy". my sims won't do some actions, and sims shift over from time to time. the problem is particularly worse when sims interact with each other.

my first logic instinct was to clear out my downloads folder, and it worked. the game runs fine when there is nothing in the folder, but when i put anything bac in, the problem starts again.

i'd like to kow how to fix this, so i can restart downloading cc. i have since read the proper way to install files.

i am not new to the sims, but i am new to mac. i've been around computers my whole life, and plan in making them part of my carerr. so, you don't have to completely dumb down to answer me :-P.

i greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this and help. if you know a link, and don't feel like explaining, i'd be more then happy to read it for myself.

i know what can be subfoldered and what can't be, but can i sbfolder a subfolder?

also, can i rename files? ex: is a file is named "58342378492eyesblu) can i change it to "blue_eyes_from_~~"? or will that ruin the file?

You might either have custom content that's conflicting with each other or not compatible with your game configuration. Try using Simsample's 50% sorting method and definately organize your downloads while your at it (at least put any defaults you have and hacks into their own subfolders). http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139702
