How do you stop a pet from jumping in the car with you when you go to a community lot? And is there a way to disable any strays from entering a building on a community lot? |

Update: July 2009-I am back now to make invisible and tranparent recolors again in sims 2. You can pm me if you want your objects to be invisible and transparent from now. |

Ahh, I've had the same problem. If you travel to a community lot and select "Household" instead of the "Your-Sim Only" option, everyone in the family will go, (including pets). I haven't found away around this, except if two Sims are on a date/outing. If that's the case an option for those two sims only will appear and they can travel together. Another thing you could try is to put a phone on the community lot. Your Sim can use it to invite the other sims in the family to the lot. That's what I've had to do, but I'm not sure if the option is only available on purchased lots or not, (I've never tried on a regular one). Unfortunately you can't trap the pets, (I've tried), because the car won't leave until everyone is in it, causing it to be stuck indefinately. I have no idea why they didn't have an option to select individual household members for outings since the Pets EP.. (and if there is, I haven't found it). It's rather inconvenient. And I don't know if there's an option to disable strays or not. I know you can lock doors for pets only but I think that's only available on purchased lots. |

Pescado has a mod that lets you choose who goes to a community lot when you go by taxi, but not by car. Twojeffs' visitor controller is good for banning pets from community lots altogether, and I think Pescado has a hack that does something similar. |

The hacks are great..I use them. But, if you don't want to use a hack, have you tried using the 'manage groups' function? Create a group of just the Sims you want to go on the outing. It will exclude the pets and any other Sims on the lot that you don't want to accompany you. NB: you have to include children if there is no adult left on the lot to mind the tot. Of course, this doesn't help you if you have a lone Sim with pets on a lot. If that's the case, go with Gwill's advice. |

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s. |
