Err, well, you don't use the joints tab to assign bone assignments - you use the Unimesh Bone Tool to do that. And it looks like you haven't regrouped the shoes to add them to the main group, so they're not showing up. Adding Al's shoes requires pretty advanced knowledge - while looking at Maxis meshes will give you a basic idea of what sort of assignments you should be using in which areas, it won't be exact, and it requires a lot of fiddling to get the assignments just right - even using Maxis assignments (which I don't think you have by your description) animation will not be perfect immediately. I generally make them dance about as that makes problems in ankle animation show up pretty well. Pretty much the whole foot should be assigned to foot bones, also (no toe assignments) for high heels - gives them a very cute little pinup walk as the foot doesn't flex. Knowing how to do all this takes a lot of time and effort on simpler stuff - if you've gone through and done all three Unimesh tutorials, though, you'll know most of it, but I would still recommend trying a lot simpler stuff - and mastering it - before trying to do something that is going to require that much assigning and fiddling with assignments. |

That looks good, glad you got them to show up! Make sure you test in game and pause the game and examine the legs/ankles/feet very carefully. (and also of course, fix your recolor)

You did not follow the directions in the Unimesh tutorial #3 to join those legs to the mesh - see how your uvmap across the legs is all tangled up. I believe that is because you welded things on that seam. I do not know if unwelding will fix it. Do NOT WELD with Unimesh. It makes messy things. Use Snap and then use Demon's align normals tool. If selecting that area and saying 'unweld' doesn't fix things, you probably need to start over. Consider it a learning experience. I just had to start over (yes from the beginning) a mesh today myself because it simply did not go together how I wanted and trying to untangle the mess I made was too hard. From the section at the end of tutorial #3 about Al's Shoes: "Do NOT use the tutorial provided at simskins, that tutorial is totally outdated and not compatible with the current milkshape/unimesh. Do not weld anything. Use the bone tools as taught in this tutorial." |

Al's shoes come pre-mapped. There's really no need to make his shoes alpha, but it'd be a matter of grouping them with whatever other alpha parts you're using and adjusting the mapping accordingly if you had some idea of something to do with them that requires them to be alpha parts. |

hmm.. okay, 'cause on the last outfit I made with Al's shoes, I just painted white color over the area in the alphafile where the shoes are. Hope you understand..xP |

Looks like maybe the texture for the shoes doesn't go quite far enough in that area... either that or the alpha doesn't, if that's actually grey rather than white. |
