I'm now playing Sims 2: Open For Business on my MacBook. And, my ultra speed does not work. It's as slow as normal speed. It was also this way when I was only playing the base version. Have anyone else experienced this? Can it be fixed?

The ultra speed is really weird to me, It just makes the game lag extremely, mine does this too, does the game really lag when putting the game in ultra speed? It also depends on the size of the lot and the amount of cc too.

Ah a Biscuit! It all makes sense

I've got exactly the same problem, only on one lot. The Ultraspeed works well anywhere else, but on this lot, speed just never changes. Kind of annoying when my sim sleeps or goes to work.
Anyone knows how to fix it?

Have you tried playing without your downloads folder? This could be a hacked object that you have on that lot which interferes with time.

I've noticed this occasionally on the largest lots that have tons of objects and lots of sims. I chalked it up to lack of power/resources. Since the lot is so loaded, it's using all the games resources it can. There's not enough left to run ultra speed.

Since the OP is running on a Macbook, I think it's likely that it's always like that because the game/computer simply doesn't have the resources/specs/power it needs to be able to run ultra speed.

Which, in Biscuits case, using ultra speed actually results in the opposite effect — lag, because the use of ultra speed is taxing the computer too much.

That's what i thought first and thus I removed many things from the lot, until there remained almost only the walls, but the problem was still there.
Besides, I have other huge lots that lag just a bit, but nothing like the "non-response" of the ultraspeed on the lot I was talking about.
thanks for your time and advice ! !

You're definitely right! It's a shame I haven't managed to find out exactly which custom content is guilty, cause the lot was terrific (a npc run home restaurant -- easy money and new aquaintances for my sim :p)
+ well, the home restaurant thing works perfectly on other lots too.

Well, I'll go build a new, better one!

It would probably be worth finding that hacked object and not keeping it. You will put it on the lot again. If you use the 50/50 method it will work, may be slow, but it works.
