For the first time I've made a house that has custom content in it. It has a very detailed and varied garden with lots and lots of different plants. After weeks of building, packaging, repackaging cleaning, retracing links and troubleshooting I’m finally ready to upload. Now I find to my horror that each and every single item must have an individual link added to them. Even if 13 plants come from one single page and could be downloaded with one press of a button I MUST mention them one by one. This really sound silly to me! Is there no way around this? I’m talking about 77 lines…….

The way this works on mts2 is not a problem, but part of the solution. Imagine each and every user who wants to download the house would have to track down each and every piece of custom content individually? That's what often happened before people were forced to provide links to the stuff. Half an hour spent on your side equals 500 hours saved overall if 1000 people d/l your house: three weeks nonstop searching! Can you imagine that?

Alternatively, you might want to think about building houses with a little less than 77 pieces of CC, of course ..

MTS2 does not allow the redistribution of custom content that the creator has indicated may not be redistributed. That is part of the reason and it's not a silly one. So, no. There is no way around it. It's also quite clearly outlined in the Creator Guidelines.

The upload wizard is very good at pulling links for custom content. If it doesn't grab them then yes, you'll have to dig out the link and provide it. It's all part of being a builder and sharing your creations with respect to the creators of custom content.

ETA: Also, what plasticbox said. Good point.

The Dwld wizard will help you, known items wil be automaticly filled, just check them and fill the misses. Copy and paste are 2 great tools !
The number of CC used is not a problem ...if this CC is needed by your lot or by yourself !
It is also a way lo limit especially the unused recolours in the lots and the bandwith needed by your upload for MTS2 servers.

Courage !

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

@plasticbox: I understand you perfectly and agree with you that this a solution for a problem. The only thing I meant to say that it came as a shock to me to find that each item that comes from one and the same page had to be mentioned over and over again. If I'd known this before, - believe me - I wouldn't have used all these different plants and stuff! J
@Jlonier: I’ve used Patul’s list and checked very thoroughly all creators policies and I have no intension to disrespect anyone’s wishes. I’ve also read the Creator Guidelines.
Furthermore it was not my intension to be disrespectful to anyone at MTS2 and maybe my term “silly” wasn’t well chosen.
@ All; Honestly I didn’t realise the links were automatically provided, the first few that appeared didn’t correspond with the ones I’ve collected (?) I’ll look into that.
But I’m afraid I’m a bit misunderstood here. What I meant was: the wizard seems to name each single item of a set separetely where it would be possible to download it with one press of a button with Q-Xpress or whatever (if all the items of the set were needed). I know that as if I were the downloader and with every new item I was directed to the same page I was just I while ago, I would think: “Well, why didn’t you tell me in the first place I had to download all the items!” Then the answer would be: “well I’m sorry, but this automated service wouldn’t let me tell you” See my point? But I still have a chance to point that out in my description part, I now realise. Anyway , thanks for the reactions. J

If you use a set you can edit your validated upload and let only a line to link to.

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

Ah, misunderstanding is so easy with just a few words. I get your point now, sorry 'bout that.

Aaaaah, now I see! (or at least I think I see) what Patul means! Never thought about the edit - possibility. But still, first I 'll have to fill in all.... yeah, allright I get the picture
@Jlonier: My fault, not only do I use too many custom content, I allways use too many words.

noke, that's the hardest part for me when it comes to uploading here...and when I prepare to upload, I make sure I don't have anything else to do for a few hours. (I put a lot of cc in my lots, too.)

But it's worth it, so hang in there!

I was going to start eating all natural foods, until I heard of all these people dying of natural causes.

For your next house, the more CC from MTS, the more of the list that will be filled.

As best I can tell, it almost always manages to pull all of the info for MTS posted CC, and rarely for non-MTS. No denying that the whole process is a pain. I try to think of it as homage to the wonderful creators who made all that cool CC in the first place... and yes several hours should be planned for the upload, when you build with lots of CC.
