My game randomly crashes!!!!
There is an annoying beep and then a message pops up saying that the ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working properly. I dont even know what that is!!! It isn't custom content because it did it the first day i got the game. It is really annoying me because sometimes i have been playing for about 3 hours and then i lose all that happened.

It is a driver problem. Instructions for a fix are in that thread.

Since this is a hardware/software issue and not 'technically' a gameplay problem, I would suggest you go to your hardware device makers website, or post the question at techspot or at our sister site S2C in the computer hardware/software forum:

Though failing all these methods you could open the sims 2 in a window rather than a full screen application. Since I have started doing this my game has never displayed that awful message again.
