I hope someone can answer this for me. I've tried researching for an answer, but I guess I'm not putting the right things into Google, so please forgive. I just want to know this -- I just upgraded from a Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 256 MB to an ATI Radeon X1550 Pro 512MB to try and solve my stupid infinite blue loop problem (because turning off shaders and using the new driver fix never resolved the problem for me), and I swear I've seen someone say something before about the game detecting what kind of driver/card you have...what I'm curious to know is if this damn game that's caused me so much trouble in the past (heh) will pick up the driver/card automatically or do I need to do something to, uh, "help" it along (like deleting something). I'm just asking this because I remember reading something about the game not detecting the new drivers and what the game detects being in some sort of game file (but I can't remember where), and I'm wondering if I'm going to run into a problem with this game still wanting to pick up the old card. Oh, and if anyone has the same card, should I expect any problems? Thanks in advance! [EDIT] Well, you can disregard this post (unless you have something to add to it, that is). I thought I was going to have more problems, but everything ran smoothly for the first time since installing Pets last year (that's months without playing, heh). It lags a little here and there (around big objects, but I would imagine that's normal), but no more infinite blue loop/crashing!! Heh, and to think all I had to do was to add another Gig of RAM and change to ATI. |

I'm so glad you got this squared away Kagome. I've had the 1650 Pro for several months and haven't had any problems. Then again, I've never had a problem with ATI. *cough* 'cept this one is a sapphire 'cause it was cheaper. :D |
