Hey everyone, My name is Yana, and I have a question. How does everyone get their skin textures and furnitures to look so smooth and I guess "realistic"? I've downloaded tons of new skins and eye colors, which helped a little. I also adjusted the settings on my video card (NVidia GEForce 5200 128 mb), and the settings in my game, but the edges still seem a bit choppy (not to mention slower game play), perhaps I need an upgrade? Thanks

In your game options: texture detail and sim/object detail set to high. If you have Smooth Edges, try turning that up - or if you have controls for your graphics card down by your computer clock that will let you turn on Antialiasing for all programs that way, do so and leave Smooth Edges turned down in TS2. (You said you already adjusted settings but let's make sure you've done the right ones) Still look blurry/not pretty? Probably - that's an old, low-powered graphics card. Might need a new one. Here's where to look for info and ask for recommendations on that if you decide to go that route: http://forums.sims2community.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8 |

Eeek, yes - that's the card that I used to have (well, my gaming machine had a 5500, the other had and still does have a 5200) - and I'm really surprised you can run that many EPs on it at all. An upgrade is definitely the way to go. |
