I had posted previously about the problems I was experiencing and at that time I was told by my local geek squad that it was due to viruses on my PC rather than the graphics card interfering with my game, since I didn't have prior issues until Bon Voyage was installed. My PC has since been reformatted and I installed all the games I had, and also bought the H&M stuff pack which I installed before Bon Voyage. Before I loaded my Downloads and neighborhood files I had backed up, I tested the game it seemed fine. I then put in my downloads folder & N001 file in there and that's when things went crazy, and it crashed while loading. I took out the N001 file and left just the downloads in and the game finished loading and I went into the first neighborhood, but before I even got to do anything, the screen went blue and I got the error message about graphics adapter. I have attached the specs for my PC as well as the error message that I got. I should also mention the graphics card I have is less than 6 months old since I updated it, and I downloaded recent drivers from AMD website two days ago in hope that it would resolve the issue but still nothing. |

I found this on the Intel website but it may still apply to you. You can read the full article here: http://www.intel.com/support/graphi...b/CS-016497.htm Intel recommend the user upgrade to the newest version of their driver. If you are using the newest ATI driver, I would recommend trying to roll back to an earlier version. Barring that, try running the game in Windowed mode. Right click on the Sims 2 Icon you use to launch the game. Select Properties. Add a -w to the end of the Target line. (i.e. "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" -w) Also, make sure you have the latest greatest DirectX installed. |

I tried the window mode before and again now and it still crashed. Even after installing the recommended graphic drivers on the Intel website, the game was still flashing a blue screen before crashing. I'm still searching the ATI website for the older drivers but I don't have luck with that yet. It's just very strange to me because the graphics card is practically new, and there was no problem prior to Bon Voyage. At this point I'm just considering uninstalling it, and seeing if my game works as it did when I had all the other expansion up till Seasons, this is just very frustrating as I've tried everything and nothing seems to be fixing the issue. |

Here is a link to the older Catalyst drivers for the ATI Radeon:
Code:
If the older drivers do not work, one last thing you may want to try is installing the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard. Many chipsets install mainboard drivers for AGP or PCI-E. Most applications and games do not care if that is installed or not, but some are very picky. If you do not know who made your motherboard or what model number it is, you can search on google for a program called Everest or SiSoft Sandra. Both of these programs will give you detailed information about your entire system including Motherboard manufacturer and model number. Hope this helps and the withdrawals are not getting too bad.

I'll definitely try the old drivers and see if they work. The withdrawals are bad but I just hope I can resolve it soon, I do miss the game. |

UPDATE: I tried three different older versions of my graphics adapter and same results. Either the game outright crashes on the blue screen, or the neighborhood screen loads, and if I try to click on any house or bars uptop, it tells me the application experienced and error and has crashed. At this point, I'm trying to read up on secuROM and see if that's where my issue is but I'm going to uninstall everything and install all the expansion packs I have up to seasons only and see if that helps b/c as I've mentioned, all this graphics and crashing issues only came about after the installation of Bon Voyage. |
