 Maxis Objects No Pic

First off specs 2.3Ghz AMD dual core processor 3 G Memory Nvidia 6150  Okay I got this "No Pic" option three days ago. I noticed that the family car was in the street. So I thought something was up, and low and behold this shows up not only for this, but many Maxis objects. I backed up today, and reinstalled all my EP's. I have all of them, but the stuff packs. So after the install I opened my game and it is the same case scenario. I am clueless at this point. Any help would be lovely. Thanks in advance. |

Try holding down ctrl and right clicking on the pic. That's supposed to refresh it. Otherwise you can try going into your Mydocuments\eagames\sims2 folder and deleting the contents of thumbnails folder. That should do it. |

Did both, I tried your first method, and no result. I exited the game, and proceeded to delete the say five files in the thumbnails folder. Loaded the game, same result no pic is in the thumbnail field. |

Are these CC objects? They look to be smack dab in the middle of you custom content listing. Could their thumbnails have gone missing? |

They are Maxis items like the driveway, extensions, and other random Maxis items. Oddly it is not any CC that was download, which is weird. And also when you click on them, the object is invisible as well. I do have the invisible driveway, but the maxis ones are invisible as well. I went to another lot to see if that one was maybe corrupt, and same issue on the other lot.  |

LOL The second one seems to be more in tune with your problem as you have blank game icons. :) |

I read this before, but well I gave it a try anyways just to I guess pinpoint it. After hours it is the same. And I made a list of only some of the items and looked them up ALL Maxis, which is odd. I am so clueless at this point. Thanks you both though, I appreciate it. :D |

I have had this happen occasionally before when I downloaded a custom item with the same GUID as a Maxis one. If you have not yet gone through the suggested steps to take prior to posting, I would do so now...for me, once I realized that was an issue with normal items, I ended up not having to do the 50% method so much as putting down the Maxis item that was being overwritten on a clean lot with no downloads folder in, then going back to the lot with my custom content installed and seeing what the item was identified as. I do not know for sure if this would work with the driveways since I have not experienced that particular issue, but if not, the 50% method is tried and true for discovering problem files. http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?...lp:Game_Problem |

I think I understand what happened, but now I don't know how too fix this. I was using clean installer, and I opened my game. I deleted the recursive and now I think that is my issue. I am not sure but well I am pulling out my hair trying to remember odd things. That was one of them. Contrakat I removed the Sims2 folder in my documents to try your method, and still the same result. Is there no way to retrieve the maxis objects back? I hope that I didn't screw it up forever. *smacks head* |

You can try replacing the objects.package file otherwise go through and do the game problems article. |
