well... ok, see, I got the sims 2, university, and nightlife, and, well, I wanted to know if I can get more expansions. see, I live in brazil (I got the games in the US), and the sims 2 games they sell here have a little box that says "fully in portuguese!" and, well, I wanted to know if the two games are truly one of a kind, or two different games altogether. I read that you can change the language of the game by editing a txt file in one of the root folders, but, well, they charge a lot for the game, and I don't want it all to go to waste. Please help!!

What games are you talking about that are one of a kind? If you are talking about the University and Nightlife, then no they are not 1 of a kind as you can probably tell nearly every1 on this site has them. IF you are unsure always look for the official EA logo. The ones in portuguese, sound a bit strange as the sims dont acyually have a language themselves. They could just be one perticular for your country, such as in italy they may say in italian.

Buying the games in Brazil will be fine, they'll work with your US copies - just as long as you set the new game to the same language as your others (it's an option while installing). Not doing so can cause nasty neighbourhood corruption.

If it says "The Sims 2" on it, it's a TS2 EP and will work. Not the same as "The Sims Life Stories" though.
