I'm trying to create the Ultimate Super-Neighborhood. To do this, I need to move ALL of the Maxis-made playable Sims to the new neighborhood, beacuse I'm re-creating the old core 'hoods as subneighborhoods. How do I move them all without loosing the relationships? Can I get avay with moving the character file and re-numbering them with the new 'hood's number, or will I be forced to do to the very long and hard way? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There is only one way to do this without hopelessly damaging your hood: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?...elp:Moving_Sims Moving them without prep will shred your charector data files and also drag copies of all the sims they ever knew into the new hood, which leads to imminent overpopulation (of the data kind) of the new neighborhood. |

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s. |

If you want them to keep relationships to each other, I'm pretty sure you'll want to basically put everyone all on one lot. If everyone's all together on one lot, you should only get one copy of each sim. I'm not sure how this works for family trees though - Maxis sims come with a pretty extensive family tree and those sims I think would be copied over as well... which I suppose in this case is -correct- since you do want those half-formed sim files copied over, but you don't want multiple copies, so I think if you get everyone on one lot (you'll need a hack for unlimited sims on a lot as well as a hack like the InSIMenator to get everyone to move in) then you should be able to then pack up that lot. I'm also -pretty- sure I've seen this done before already somewhere. Ah yes, knew I'd seen info on it: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...pic,4480.0.html May not be exactly what you're looking to do but that method is at least proven to work. Here's the finished version, btw: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...pic,4274.0.html |

If it'll get all of the existing Sims to my new 'hood without grenading my hard drive, I'll give it a shot! Thanks for the help! |
