I would like to know:

1) if other programs may be used to edit sims files & reimport them as well as create files that can be imported into sims. I have Maya 6 and zbrush 2, as well as Photoshop CS3, after effects and other programs for audio/video editing. My main interest is in machinima filming using sims characters & props.

2)Which file formats are used so I can check whether sims/content can be imported into other programs or imported into sims 2.

3) I am using a Mac and thus am unable to use programs such as simpe. Are there work arounds for those pc specific tools?
