i've just encountered this problem last night.i thought it happened only in my custom neighbourhood. but when i checked maxis negihbou8rhood today, i found that every house i played turned maroon starting at 6 pm to 7pm and from 6am to 7am. it looked like there was some kind of disaster about to happen.i have installed my ikea stuff few days ago and i didn't play much because i was busy making a new home for my sims. my first thought was because of the stuff pack,so, i uninstalled it. however,it still happened.nothign's changed.. i even renamed my sims folder to old sims 2 because i wanted to check it in clean/no hack neighbourhood in a new sims 2 folder. The result was the same.
the only thing that's normal is the sky and the swimming pool water. Do you think it's because of the graphic glitch because even without hacks, i'm still having this problem.

Argh! i've never had this problem before and i hardly had any problems with graphics until today. Do i have to uninstall my game because i'm at my wits end.

Do you have a radiance lighting mod installed? It looks lioke it's a dusk and dawn thingy.

i don't think installed those.but, i guess i have to check on the scriptorium that i've just reinstalled few days ago. maybe it has something to do with this.

I think that gunMod lightning system is installed by default with scriptorium.
I suggest to explore all the realistic enhancements it gives to your game before considering further as an apocalypse

you both are right! it is from the lighting mod,though i never installed it. it seems i think there was something wrong in the scriptorium application. i clicked on the maxis original lighting, but somehow radiance lighting was in the maxis original selection and overwrite it. so, i had to find the maxis original lighting script back in the creator's thread.anyway, thanks to you all. Everything's fixed.
