Hi everyone I've been playing for a while without any problems (winXP), having downloaded quite an amount of custom content. Until recently everything seemed to be ok - all the content worked perfectly, etc. however one day, about two thirds of the content disappeared from the game. I checked the /downloads folder to see what was wrong, only to notice that the missing files were still there, though their size dropped to 96 bytes. I've had a backup of the files (all of them working and larger than 96 bytes), so it was a quick issue to fix - upon running the game, the content still was lost and after checking the directory, the files have once again reverted into 96 bytes ones. I've checked the net for a solution only to find someone by the nick zedrik ( http://www.modthesims2.com/archive/...hp/t-48730.html ), complaining about a similar problem. The solution given to him of course did not work for me... Thanks for your help

This is strange... have you tried moving your My Docs/The Sims 2 folder to desktop, running the game to generate a new one, and putting some of the downloads into the new folder? If so, do they still break? Does it happen with less files in the Downloads folder? Is there any pattern as to which files are breaking - are they all one type of item, or all from one site? |
