When my sim starts to give birth and the box comes up saying "there is a new family member on the way" my game says "the application has crashed and will now terminate". Does anyone know why its doing this? I've tried removing all custom content and that didn't work, and I don't want to have to lose my family.
If anyone would help that would be great, thank you

Maybe some old hack caused permanent damage? You can always check for patches on the sims official website.

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
  • General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problemwiki FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Contentwiki FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.
Also make sure you are not already maxed out on the number of allowed members in a particular household. If you already have the max and, then try to give birth thus adding more, this can happen.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

You didn't happen to use an unlocked mannequin skin in CAS when creating the sim? Those can cause crashing at birth.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

That skin's not meant to be used for making babies. If you look around you may be able to find an addon that enables that skin for children/babies, but as it was made, the skin does not include any infant ages, and thus crashes when the game tries to generate a baby using it.

Yup. The unlocked skins don't have a baby morph/whatevertheycallit. I'm sure somewhere this little tidbit is in a FAQ. I just remembered it off the top of my head. So, don't feel bad for not finding it right away.
