Anyone remember the Rileys? I moved my sims into their apartment building. I then played as the Riley family, married Vivian Cho, and had her move in. Then exited to neighborhood, moved the Riley family into a new building, played them, no problems.

Went back to play my custom Sims, and the Riley and Cho families are still on the lot. Other NPCs have taken their apartments, and they CANNOT leave the lot. They are sleeping on the sidewalk and using my bushes as a toilet. This is really unacceptable. Does anyone know how I can get rid of them? Oh, and I'm not so attached to them that I mind risking permanent deletion, though I'd rather not do that.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

Not sure how you determined that, frankly. I'm pretty familiar with the steps in that FAQ, and everything that I think could have applied, I've attempted. I didn't care to try recreating the problem, because, as I haven't solved it, that will simply leave me with another problem.

I am not currently using any hacks, so that takes out a pretty big chunk of potential problems. Nor are there any 'hidden' hacks downloaded unintentionally; I checked.

I don't have the space to do a major backup of all my save files; so removing them isn't really an option.

Finally, as far as I know, there's no patch out yet.

I'm saving reinstall as a final option--my system is old, slow, and frankly a bitch even at the best of times. I was hoping for some sort of suggestion other than 'try reinstalling the basegame, 8 expansion packs, and 4 stuff packs'.

In lieu of that, I seem to recall a boolprop cheat to remove visitors from lots. I shall give that a shot. Thanks, though.

You need to go through the entire FAQ. If you really have so little hard drive space that you can't make up a backup of your saved game files then you really need to create more space anyway. Having that little hard drive space available can create its own set of issues.. the FAQ talks about this in fact.

Once you have cleaned up enough space you need to go through the FAQ, step by step, in order, including removing or renaming your user files and letting the game generate new ones.

Lalaith, can you interact with those sims at all? For instance, can you ask them to leave?

If you ever find a solution to this problem please post it. I have the same problem. I've asked the sim to leave but they don't.
